This traditional lager has a subtle hop character with a clean full flavour. Pale in colour and cold filtered, this beer has a smooth crisp finish that is beautifully balanced for an exceptional drinking experience.

Pale yellow gold with a small white head. Average carbonation and low bitterness. Fizzy mouthfeel, thin bodied and a little bit watery. Certainly nothing special but refreshing. 330 ml green glass bottle.

330 ml Green bottle - Pale yellow/gold/ Thin white head. Medium carbonation. A little thin. Sweet and slightly grassy, and virtually no bitterness. I’d drink it again if it was free.

On tap at The Clare Hotel. Surprised at the negativity of these reviews, seemed like a perfectly decent drop to me, if nothing special. The specifics are a bit hazy, but what I do recall vividly is having it run out around 3am and being forced to switch to Reschs. This was not a pleasant experience.

Bottled, while visiting Hobart. Straw blonde, crystal clear, lovely stemmy skunk-hop euro-lager aroma (love it or hate it... I love it!). Clean pale malt palate with a good hop presence and a nice hint of citrus in the finish. Waaay above average in the Aussie pale lager market.

Usual dodgy pale lager skunk, which isn’t surprising given it comes in a green bottle, and a bit of corn. A really sweet flavour, but without any backbone to carry it. This just gets worse the more I drink it, so I think I’ll stop now.

On tap at Jackson on George. Pale straw colour with small white head, sweet malty aroma. Sickly sweet malty flavour and smokey aftertaste. Girlfriend says its yucky, so its yucky!!!!

I thought this range of beer was only available on draught, so I was suprised when I found, what i’m assuming, is this in 330ml bottle form as St Arnou Premium blonde. Grainy aroma, rice-like, slightest detection floral hoppiness. Pale golden body with fluffy white head. Reasonably light bodied, carbonation is quite soft. Corny malt dominates palate, some light fruity flavours manifest themselves but nothing substantial. Finishes soapy, dry with a mild metallic bitterness. Disappointing compared to others in this range.

ALLOVATE (2098) - Butler, AUSTRALIA - JUN 29, 2007
Pours your typical pale gold with clingy, adhesive small bubbles and a soapy lather of foam atop. Dry, grassy bitter nose with a mineral-like edge and a strange hint of fresh crushed chives and white onion. A burst of fizz in the mouth gives way to some salty, wheaty malt tones and sweet/sour lemony flavours. Hops are soft, dusty, a little reserved to balance. Slight chlorine tinge to the back end, a little soapy it becomes as the glass empties. You can’t help but notice the similarities between this and a stale, herbed pretzel, its aroma is very similar indeed as is the linger of flavour long after the swallow. Fizzy, it bounces across the palate with ’O.K.’ speed, the crispness on the swallow bites though. This is average stuff, considering I did like their Pilsner. Ordinary!!! (33cL, 4.5%, Int’l Beer Shop, W. Leederville)

A small head and a crisp aroma. Fizzy carbonation. Didn’t think it was too bad, though is missing a power punch. Good but could be better.
