COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask; Occasional & bottle conditioned.
Originally brewed as a special to celebrate the 200th anniversary of Nelson’s victory at Trafalgar in 1805. However, production of the bottled version and, occasionally, the cask has continued.
This premium bottle-conditioned ale has been uniquely brewed using our own Cornish Gold malt. Locally grown barley is traditionally malted using a special kilning process which develops a deeper intensity of colour and flavour than ordinary barley malt. Blended with both Styrian Golding and Cascade hops, the result is a deep bronze ale with a delicious rich biscuit flavour and a wonderful spicy aroma.

Surprisingly nice! I hadn’t expected a St Austell beer to excite me so much. Great medium rich body. Lots of caramel fruity flavour and some tangy hop resin zing. Ends with nice lasting after taste of cream fudge and baked Alaska.

Flaske på Bøker&Børst, avslutning på Bjørnøy Rundt Triatlon: B&B har nå en variert ølmeny, og her fant vi to uprøvde. Denne kom etter Joker ipa, og var et hakk eller to over som forgjengeren, men heller ikke noe mer enn en grei ipa uten stort særpreg.

Pours orangish brown with a small tan head. Smell is fruity, caramel, biscuit. Taste is similar to the smell with tart fruitiness then mix of fruit and rich caramel and then the dry and slightly bitter ending. Body is light/medium with finely structured carbonation. A nicely put together beer.

Bottle conditioned. Dark amber beer with a lively pour that reduces to a residual head. Aroma of fruity hops, maybe a touch of grapefruit. Taste is fruity malts and again that grapefruit or passion fruit hoppiness like a mild IPA in flavour. A very nice beer.

Tap at Grünerløkka Brygghus Mathallen, march 8th 2013. Dark amber body, low white head. Aroma of caramel, earthly hops, bread. Taste of nuts, malt and english hops. Light bitterness, and an aftertaste of bakers yeast. Find it a bit boring.

The head is medium, the body clear brown, a bit orange. It smells a bit fruity. Taste is fruity, malty, bit hoparomatic, a bit spicy. 11/10/10/9/12/10

Nice woody aroma. Dry woody taste too. Fullish palate for a bottled beer. Sweet and a little buttery. But the dry woodiness is the big win here. Normally these guys are bright and hoppy, but this is quite heavy. Maybe a touch of butteriness, but not in a butterscotchy way, it’s just woody.

Pours a hazy copper colour with a small off white ring around the glass with a couple spots after a few minutes from a big initial soapy mess. Aroma is malty, caramel, grass, and fruity esters. Flavour is grassy, mild bitterness, caramel and biscuits. Tasty beer and a good representation of the style.
