Cask; Occasional & bottle conditioned.
Originally brewed as a special to celebrate the 200th anniversary of Nelson’s victory at Trafalgar in 1805. However, production of the bottled version and, occasionally, the cask has continued.
This premium bottle-conditioned ale has been uniquely brewed using our own Cornish Gold malt. Locally grown barley is traditionally malted using a special kilning process which develops a deeper intensity of colour and flavour than ordinary barley malt. Blended with both Styrian Golding and Cascade hops, the result is a deep bronze ale with a delicious rich biscuit flavour and a wonderful spicy aroma.

Scent of sweet floral hops and malt. The taste is interesting, first there is a berry flavor (raspberry?) Which is then transferred to a nice malty taste with a clean hop bitterness. A beer which differ from the general nature of Premium Bitter / ESB. I like it!

Bought it as it’s the only British Beer available anywhere in town apart from brewdog. It was a real treat, caramel, quite bitter. Reminded me of Nethergate, but it’s been a while. But blimey they charged 10€ a 500mL bottle, twice the price of any other beer in the place, no idea why (well it might be that someone read the blurb on the back about celebrating the battle of Trafalgar).

beautiful clear beer to drink. The texture is soft and caramel flavorful. The hops added give it a little different taste than similar beers. Quite wonderful. Gift from Uckelman

500ml bottle at home in Richmond, as ’St. Austell Admirals Ale’, 5%, BB Apr 2017, bottle conditioned. Dark amber orange brown, translucent, pretty still, quickly diminishing head. Aroma is cola, papery, sugary. Body is light and smooth with soft carbonation. Taste up front is demerara sugar, some browning apple, rounded malt, flinty, dusty, minerally. When left out for a while, the malt character becomes a lot richer and toffee-ish, which led to me increasing the rating slightly.

Color ámbar oscuro. Espuma blanca, poco persistente. Aroma a caramelo, toques a tabaco, tostado. Sabor dulce, caramelo, amargor alto.

2 bottles, clear mahogany, one with more carbonation than the other Malty with a slight caramel and tobacco after taste, it’s bottle conditioned but very clear and no sediment A Mediocre beer, on the good side of mediocre.

W aromacie czuję trochę likerowego alkoholu z nutami ciemnych suszonych owoców. W smaku jakby woda sodowa z saturatora z odrobiną soku z jakiegoś ciemnego owocu. Lekkie i pijalne. Dobrze gasi pragnienie i smakuje lepiej niż woda.

Bottle at home, 22/08/16. Rich chestnut brown with reddish hues topped with a solid beige cap - a good looking beer but lacks the retention to garner a top mark in the appearance stakes. Nose is dates, sticky toffee pudding, fruit loaf, light spice, stewed prunes. Taste comprises toffee, dates, Soreen malt loaf, biscuit, mellow fruits, brown bread. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, drying close with a mellow fruit rinse. Solid ESB.

Bottle, 50 cl, bought at "upper glass", Mannheim. Well-balanced ESB in all aspects. Would definitely have again.

UPDATED: JUL 8, 2016 Bottle shared by Mart, thanks! Clear dark brownish copper beer, small white head. Nose is caramel, malt, biscuity notes. Flavor begins somewhat watery, but the middle of the taste has a decent caramel tone to it, finishes malt and watery again, with a soft hop profile.
