Spoons Fest. Clear dark amber beer. Light palate. Low carbonation. Well balanced light malt that is very slightly nutty. The hops are fruity and a little grassy/spicy. Finishes with more orange fruit and a trace of peach. Dry malt aftertaste.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Tasted this in the Esquire House, Glasgow (JDW0 in October 2009. Cask, handpump dispense. Crystal clear mahogany in colour with a thin buff head. Strong dusty hops in the long aroma. Thin but creamy mouthfeel and good lacing. Mixed malts give a digestive biscuit base with toffee and pink grapefruit flavours. Short prickle of hops comes through with strong coniferous resiny notes present in the bitter aftertaste. Finish is dry with tart citric fruit evident on the palate. An ok session bitter.

A Mes rate: Cask at Baker Street ’Sporks.
An excellent copper colour with a decent off white head and lace. Nice earthy malt with a light sweetness. Some tobacco and leather and a decent bitter finish that balances it all out really nicely. Very late lick of sweetness brings it back round to the start. Nice beer.
