Reasonable session beer. Good bitter balance (as advertised) nicely balanced on the body (malt) side. A pleasant beer overall and I wouldn’t turn one down if offered again.

0,5 l bottle from CITTI, Flensburg. Red orange, misty body with a fingerthick tanned head. Freshly boiled apple jam and biscuits on the nose. Fresh fruity, bitter. Light to medium bodied. Papery notes develops on the bitterness in the finish and the tongue is dry and a little numb for quite a while. Pleasant, but not the finish I had hoped for.

Beese (1099) - Watford, Hertfordshire, ENGLAND - JAN 9, 2014
Bottle from Tesco, Watford (I think). Poured a slightly hazy amber colour with a thin off-white head. Aroma of stewed fruit, toffee and raisins. Sweetness on the tongue too, with notes of brown sugar, apple pie and meringue. Palate was copper, stale malt and cooked fruit. Not sure if there was something wrong with the bottle, but it tasted more like the packaged dessert isle than the beer one...

Bottled 30/10/13. An amber coloured beer. Sweetish and malty. Quite nice flavours but old fashioned. Has yeasty elements. Ordinary bit drinkable enough.

Pours out clear golden with a low head and flat body. Nose of hops and basement. Taste of old hops, dust, barley, basement and mild citrus fruits. Not really nice or aromatic - I expected way more of it. Just very boring, dull, dusty and unexciting.

The expectations were quite high but every goal was missed by a mile. Starting off a bit malty with decent sourness and some caramel. Dull with only malt (once again) to offer. Boring beer with no bitterness, no hops or anything special. Still drinkable ? Yes !

Thick rich and very nice with those complex flavours of a strong and well aged ale. Currants, raisins, treacle and orange.

Bottle at home from Ølkonsortiet. Pours clear amber with a small white head. Malty, bready aroma. Medium body, malty, slight hop flavour. Low bitterness.

Bottle from one of the supermarkets. Poured a slightly hazy golden brown with a frothy white head. The aroma malty with a little citrus fruit. The flavour is medium bitter, with some lovely smooth hoppiness, toffee and caramel on the palate This really is a very drinkable and refreshing bitter. It deserves a better rating IMO.

Judging by the amount of overseas ratings and the various languages on the back of the bottle, this dark amber ale has plenty of lager qualities. It has a high carbonation that makes it fizzy in the palate. It has a sweet nose with toffee evident and a small sweetness for its taste.
