Cask: Regular house ale for Nicholson’s.
We’re both excited and overjoyed to announce that all Nicholson’s pubs are now proudly serving Nicholson’s Pale Ale, brewed exclusively by St. Austell just for us.
Beautifully crafted by world renowned master brewer Roger Ryman, this is a classic cask conditioned English Pale Ale (4% ABV), and represents both companies’ passion and drive in delivering quality ale which can be enjoyed in the typical British pub atmosphere that Nicholson’s offers.

Cask fresh on at Drum & Monkey, Glasgow, 23/7/14. Light malt and floral hop aroma, dense white head reflecting somewhat high carbonation of first pint served from cask; hence, good lacing. Fine balance of biscuity malt and light hoppiness, good body for its gravity, with a mouthfeel suggesting a stronger ale; reminds me of a good pint of Theakston’s Best Bitter.

En cask à The Swan: Malt biscuit et caramel enduit d’une fine marmelade. Peu de caractère, buvabilité évidente.

Looks nice. Not much aroma. Mild citrusy hops on the taste. Good mild bitter aftertaste. The good side of normal real ale. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
