Cask: Regular house ale for Nicholsonís.
Weíre both excited and overjoyed to announce that all Nicholsonís pubs are now proudly serving Nicholsonís Pale Ale, brewed exclusively by St. Austell just for us.
Beautifully crafted by world renowned master brewer Roger Ryman, this is a classic cask conditioned English Pale Ale (4% ABV), and represents both companiesí passion and drive in delivering quality ale which can be enjoyed in the typical British pub atmosphere that Nicholsonís offers.

Cask at the Tottenham, Oxford Street. A pleasantly inoffensive bitter; amber with a loose white head; slightly citrus aroma; earthy malt taste.

Cask at Eagle and Child. Pours clear dark gold with a medium, frothy white head, medium retention with good lacing. Aroma is biscuit and cracker malt with earthy and spicy hops and pear esters. Flavor is malt and hop balanced with a dry finish. Medium body and carbonation.

Cask at Horniman at Hayís. Amber color with no head. Aroma discreet, malty, earth and liquorice. Taste is malty and well balanced with a nice bitterness.

Live rate (Old rate done in 2013) - Cask at Haymarket, Edinburgh - blonde, clear, dense white head, some lacing - nose of very light fruits, little on the nose - taste of light sweet pale malt, touch of fruit, some bitter zest...maybe vague grapefruit... rather ordinary - palate has a light body, bit oily. Finish of bitter zest, some bitter grapefruit, bit metallic - Overall - found this a bit meh... it?s ok but not one i?ll be coming back too

Cask at Haymarket. Pours clear golden amber, with no head at all. Aromas of metal and light citrus. Tastes light bitter, some more candied peel sweetness. Finishes with more metal. OK.
