Surprisingly for the style a slight sweet hint along with the hop and citrus you’d expect. Well-balanced and drinkable beer.

Tasted 21/4/2013 draught "The Coal Hole", The Strand, London. Poured as a glass of bubbles that settled to a clear golden colour with a 5mm white bubbly head that diminished quickly and did not lace. Aroma slightly of malt. Taste of sweet malt; no real bitterness. Light body. A smooth, soft, light ale with a short bland finish.

Cask. Pale golden ale with a soapy white head. Malty nose with a lemon tang. Light lemon in the mouth with a strong bitter tang in the finish. Steady, drinkers pale-ale with no frills.

Pretty solid English pale ale with a fruity, hoppy flavour. Does what it says on the tin.

Draft at the Old Contemptiblea, Birmingham. Poured a clear medium amber with a thin broken white head and a little broken lace. The aroma is malty, but somewhat weak. The flavour is medium to weak bitter, with some malt and mild hoppiness in the palate. It’s a truly inoffensive pale ale and its precisely what it says on the label!
