Proper Job is dedicated to the 32nd (Cornwall) Regiment who stoutly defended their garrison during the Indian Mutiny in 1857-58. In recognition of a ‘Proper Job’, Queen Victoria awarded the 32nd the honour of becoming a Light Infantry Regiment.
"Light, clear and refreshing with an assertive hop bitterness, Proper Job IPA is based on a traditional IPA recipe which makes it perfect for long, hot summer days."

No explosion of flavors but at the same time quite fresh. Does the job quite well.

Bought in Munich at Kaufhof Altstadt. This is my fourth bottle. Like it and went for more. Not cheap but being not many IPA choices in Munich, they can charge what they want. Poured in a pint glass. Color is pale hazy gold, similar to a hefeweizen but a bit less hazy. White foam head that disappears rather quickly. Ring stays througout however. Smells citrusy, grapefruit or tangerine may be. On taste, it is carbonated right, sufficient but not suffocating bittering hops with an aftertaste that lingers. Disagree with other reviews. Not tipically British. Tastes more like an American IPA. Would have never guessed British... It’s low alcohol content (for an IPA), makes it a great drinking beer. Overall, a great beer (or is it that I miss IPAs... here in Munich?)

Pours a clear orange/amberish colour with good carbonation. Sweet fruity aroma, notes of raisin, malts, vague citrus. Sweet/sour flavour, very nice balance, strong hoppy flavour. Goes down smooth, thin bodied.

Mørk gyllen farge med et hvit skum som raskt la seg som en ring. Aroma av malt, appelsin, sitrus og furunål. Smaker malt, appelsin, tropisk frukt, sitrus og karamell.

50cl bottle, poured into a tulip glass. Nice amber colour with a small head, which dissipates quickly. Sweet malt, hoppy but not overwhelming. Slight bitter aftertaste.

Sweet floral hops and biscuity malt. Carbonation, malt and aromatic hops hit the tongue first, then rolls into a lingering bitterness. A little light on the palate but the flavour and nose are a great combination and make up for it. A classic of its style.

From Waitrose. Clear, golden colour. Film of white head. Digestive biscuit, sweet malt. Fresh cut grass. Lemon. Light orange. Light toffee. Hint of honey. Taste is light dry. Hint of sweet. Palate is clean and crisp. Finish is light dry. Hint of sweet. Then, rising, lingering, mineral bitterness. Comes across clean and refreshing. Good stuff.
