Proper Job is dedicated to the 32nd (Cornwall) Regiment who stoutly defended their garrison during the Indian Mutiny in 1857-58. In recognition of a ‘Proper Job’, Queen Victoria awarded the 32nd the honour of becoming a Light Infantry Regiment.
"Light, clear and refreshing with an assertive hop bitterness, Proper Job IPA is based on a traditional IPA recipe which makes it perfect for long, hot summer days."

500ml bottle. Pours a clear yellow to amber. Aroma is pretty subtle - hardly ’powerfully hopped’! Some burnt orange, grass, lemon, pine, light caramel and a hint of soap. Taste is bitter with some sweetness and a medium thin finish with a slightly chemical note. It’s not bad, it just doesn’t live up to the label and pales in comparison to APAs of this strength - have had this on draft and was better.

Bready aromas of hops but no citrus. Pours pale gold with a rocky white head no lacing. Tastes of apricot and sour corn. Big carbonation with steady champagne like bubbles. Oily mouthfeel and short finish. Atypical pale ale. Interesting.

Bottle at home, 02/05/16. Clear golden copper with a well appointed off white covering that retains well. Nose is bitter orange, light floral notes, straw, caramel, tagnerine. Taste comprises caramel malt, orange peel, light spice, light honey, faint vanilla, soft fruit buns, crisp malt backbone. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, leafy hop bitterness in the close. Ok but APA? I suppose the US hops go towards this but more akin to an English strong for me in terms of flavour profile.

Pours amber and a little cloudy, light fizz rather than a strong creamy head. Tastes better than it looks, punchy hops, grapefruit and citrus flavours. Lovely job!

Butelka 0,5l spożyte w domu. Kolor złoty, piękna piana osiada na szkle. Żywice i cytrusy ładnie zharmonizowane, w smaku wytrawne, trochę zbóż. Dobre IPA.

Bottle from Gardiner Haskings, Bristol. Appearance: medium white head, gold colour, clear. Aroma: hops - grapefruit, citrus. Also a bit of grass. Taste: bitter. Palate: medium body, bitter finish. Overall: quite good, chinook and cascade hops make a difference.

Bottle. Hoppy aroma with pina and fruit. Some citrus as well. The taste is well balanced between the hops and malt. Nice.

Drinks nice, don’t get me wrong, just not sure it’s as ’powerfully hopped’ as the label says

Clear golden color. Medium level hop aroma, more on the spicy side of hops. A bit of biscuit malt aroma. Medium body. Assertive spicy and resiny hoppiness right from the start. Very balanced with a bit of malt that finishes dry with a lasting bitterness and the slightest touch of caramel. Just a bit of hop fruitiness in the center. Not too shabby.

Probably damaged by yeast or overproteined malt since it was almost impossible to pour. But nose is good, taste is rich in hops and with citric flavours. Palate with a rich and warm bitterness of hops.
