Proper Job is dedicated to the 32nd (Cornwall) Regiment who stoutly defended their garrison during the Indian Mutiny in 1857-58. In recognition of a ‘Proper Job’, Queen Victoria awarded the 32nd the honour of becoming a Light Infantry Regiment.
"Light, clear and refreshing with an assertive hop bitterness, Proper Job IPA is based on a traditional IPA recipe which makes it perfect for long, hot summer days."

If I had to choose one drink before face a firing squad Or only allowed to take one drink with me on a desolate Island, this would be my choice. DELICIOUS!!!

from bottle at mondial 2014, mtl. unclear pale yellow pour with a small white cap, some retention and lacing. lightly grainy and lean maltiness, caramel touch, english bitters - usual suspects, flowers, faint fruitiness - berries perhaps. touch of honey. moderate carbonation, light body - watery, relatively dry grassy-spicy-peppery finish. interesting interpretation.

Bottle 0,50L. Hazy, dark yellow colour with average big, frothy, off-white head and lively visible carbonation. Aroma of orange, mango, peach, maracuya and similar tropical fruits. Taste starts light sweet and fruity. In the aftertaste flavor became a bit bitter, but as etiquette said "powerfully hopped", I expected much more bitterness, than I get. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Not bad, but doesn’t impressed me.

Bottle [thanks to my Euro Secret Summer Santa] @ home. Clear orange golden color, small white head that diminishes quite quickly. Smell and taste malts, some hops but not too prominently, a modest bitterness and a slight touch of fruit. Medium body and carbonation.

500 mL bottle into a pint glass, from Tesco. Golden and gassy with a short-lived bubbly head. Citrus and grapefruit aroma, quite zesty, attractive. Bitter, dry and fruity with a good malty finish. Tasty. Decent pale ale, pleasant.

Hazy gold in appearance with a minimal head. A very strong aroma, hoppy and fruity. This IPA has a crisp, light taste and goes down smoothly. A delicious ale, although quite powerful. May not suit those without experience in IPAs.

UPDATED: JUL 29, 2014 A great beer, not too heavy and ideal for warm summers. It states powerfully hopped but I would not agree. It falls way short of the OTT American hopped beers that go overboard. This just has the right balance of hops and makes for a perfect brew. Well done St Austell.
