Cloudy straw color with a white head. Refreshing aroma with hints of citrus. A bit bland, but decent

09-JUL-2012, bottle @house in Malaga. Golden with huge, almost white, lacing head of giant bubbles. Aroma is very citric with lemon and grape fruit. Not as earthy as some British IPA’s. Rather fresh. Body a bit thin, high carbonation, and there is a pilsner-like bitterness to it. Is it not really fresh? BB 09-DEC-2012...? Do not know what that is in terms of freshness. As it warms it turns more exotic fruit-like. OK brew but not my kind of IPA.

Bottle 50cl, a yellow beer with medium head, nose is hopy on the grassy, agrume and honey side. Aroma is on hops too, honey, light resin, grape and citrus notes. Finish is slightly toasted, a typical UK ipa.

A very nice bitterness with flowery notes, and a hint of sweetness. Amber in color with a lasting white head.

Bottle, 50 cl, at Black Swan, Cph: Slightly orange with a small white head. Fresh, lightly citrusy and tangerine aroma. Light caramel malty sweetness, citrusy and light grasy notes, medium body, dry finish, very smooth and rather subdued bitterness, eg. American hops the English way. Nice, but too polite.

Bottle in snifter. Pours deep golden color with a thick white head. White lacing. Aromas of flowers, sweet malts, and citrus. Sweet, lemon, and floral flavors. Dry, resin, and moderate alcohol finish. Thin body, med carbonation, not watery. Nice British IPA.

Clear gold; excellent flowery hop character with luscious but not overpowering juicy citrus fruit; these days I read grapefruit on the label and shudder at the prospect of aggressively bitter alcoholic fruit juice, but here it is soft, ripe and generous; full mouthfeel; a bitter, dry, fruity and altogether moreish finish; one of the best British IPAs I’ve tasted, really good.

(Draught at Black Door, 20120624) The beer poured pale golden and clear. Its head was medium sized, white and dense. Aroma had citricness, fruitiness, mildly pine and malts. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were fruitiness, citricness, biscuits, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was hoppy and bitter. Quite tasty and better than the cask version.

Half liter bottle picked up in Cologne opens with a crack and then pours clear deep gold with full near frothy dirty white head. The aroma offers up a good deal of floral hops that smell dry and clean and supported by some spicy hops as well as some lime peel. The taste is indeed bottle stated Powerfully Hopped. Well, it is big on hop bitterness from floral and spicy and almost tart bitter citrus. It dries out a tad into the finish. I do not understand why this is not an IPA on ratebeer when the label states IPA and it is hop forward and tastes like one. This is nice stuff. I do get a bit of sweetness mixing with some floral hops near the finish. WTF! Why does RB keep getting styles wrong?
