Proper Job is dedicated to the 32nd (Cornwall) Regiment who stoutly defended their garrison during the Indian Mutiny in 1857-58. In recognition of a ‘Proper Job’, Queen Victoria awarded the 32nd the honour of becoming a Light Infantry Regiment.
"Light, clear and refreshing with an assertive hop bitterness, Proper Job IPA is based on a traditional IPA recipe which makes it perfect for long, hot summer days."

Bottle - BCA; some yeast sediment - Coppery gold in colour. Slight white head. Some lacing. Fruity; grapefruit and orange citrus. Hoppy; grassy & floral hops. Malty base; biscuity malts, caramel, hint of honey. Good fruit/hop/malt balance. Sweet-bitter citrus fruity hoppy beer. Dry moderately bitter finish. Refreshing. Very drinkable. Decent.

Clear golden yellow beer under medium white fading foam. Medium aroma intensity, some floral hops, a little tropical, underwhelming. One dimensional attack of somewhat fresh citric hops, narrow midpalate and shortish finish, medium minus concentration, quite little complexity. All of it well short of the "powerfully hopped" boast, just a feeling this is mediocre in comparison to its peers.

Bottle at home from Tesco. Aroma is sweet blackbeery, grassy hop and brambles. Touch of alcohol in the nose as well. Clear bright golden orange coloured pour with a thin loose white head. Flavour is honey, biscuit malts, metalic grassy bitterness. Assertive rough grassy bitterness lingers. A little honey sweetness in the finish as well. Drinkable enough.

500ml bottle. Pours pale yellow with good clarity, white creamy persisting head with some lacing. Aromas of grapefruit some light pine notes, honey some caramel too. Taste some citrus, lemon zest, grapefruit honey caramel. Medium carbonation and creamy in the mouth. not overly sweet, well balanced with some lingering hop bitterness and a touch of dryness on the finish. an easy drinking refreshing beer.

Bottle. Pours an amber colour without much of a head. Aroma is honey and caramel. Medium body, medium carbonation. Lots of honey, a little caramel, really not a great deal more going on. A little citrus, its OK.

Aroma: caramel malts. Appearance: light gold, very small to no head. Taste: light to medium sweet. Palate: low carbonation, light sweets continue, short finish. Overall: they may call it an IPA, but well, it isn’t really, more of a golden ale, but still very drinkable. Bottle from Hog Head Brewery, Tongham.
