COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask; Occasional;
Proper Job is an authentic IPA brewed with Cornish spring water and malt made from a blend of malts including Cornish grown Maris Otter barley. Proper Job is dedicated to the 32nd (Cornwall) Regiment who stoutly defended their garrison during the Indian Mutiny in 1857-58. Throughout the siege the traditional "Sunset Ceremony" (beating the retreat and lowering the national flag) was ignored as an act of defiance to the mutineers. In recognition of a "Proper Job" Queen Victoria awarded the 32nd the honour

Cask at Cask Pub & Kitchen, Pimlico, London on 7th October 2009. Slightly hazy gopld with white head of foam. Strong hop aroma then exquisite and intense hop kick with delicious grassy herby hop notes. A long satisfying dry hoppy finish. Given the St Austell beers to which I have become accustomed, PROPER JOB really took me by surprise as it had the flavour of a good Dark Star IPA! Excellent!

UPDATED: SEP 21, 2014 Cask conditioned Handpump Crosse Keys London A golden beer with a tightish white head. Good welcoming citrussy hoppy notes in the aroma. Hoppy and bitter in the mouth too. Orange and grapefruit feature. Perhaps needs a bit more malt to be really good but good use of good hop combinations. Score 3.8

Cask at the Wharf, Aalborg. A clear, golden beer with a nice, white head. Hop-driven nose with citrus and peaches. Some malt in the background. The flavor is on the hoppy side too, with citrus-peel, peaches and grapefruit. There’s only a touch of malts. Fine bitterness towards the finish. Medium, quite dry mouthfeel. A quite nice beer that soon gets boring. (090205)
