COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask; Occasional;
Proper Job is an authentic IPA brewed with Cornish spring water and malt made from a blend of malts including Cornish grown Maris Otter barley. Proper Job is dedicated to the 32nd (Cornwall) Regiment who stoutly defended their garrison during the Indian Mutiny in 1857-58. Throughout the siege the traditional "Sunset Ceremony" (beating the retreat and lowering the national flag) was ignored as an act of defiance to the mutineers. In recognition of a "Proper Job" Queen Victoria awarded the 32nd the honour

This is by far the best interpretation of the classic English IPA I’ve had. The aroma is floral with hints of earthy notes and just pleasant happy. Flavor adds the aroma with a nice medium

The taste of Cornwall, best served from the russel in Polruan! Nice hops! Dangerous light drink that can be consumed all day on a nice summers day!

Cask at The Cleveland Arms, London. Pours clear gold with a creamy, sturdy foam head. Looks great. Zesty lemon, straw and fine dough in the nose. Nearly perfect flavor, light to medium sweet with sun-kissed straw bitterness, light dough, mild citrus. Wonderful balance. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Superb condition. Sweet finish with mild dryness, light lemon zest and rind, faint grass, straw, modest dough. Here, now, this beer is near perfect stuff.

UPDATED: APR 11, 2011 Feb 2011 at the brewery. Golden. Big, brash, fruity spicy hop aroma. Leafy, delicious and inviting. One of the most drinkable refreshing pints in England.

Aug 2010: @ George Inn, Croscombe. Light amber colour. Powerfully fruity (berry) hop aroma. Very refreshing. Fruity, almost tea-like in the finish. Properly hopped! 8-3-8-4-16 = 3.9

Cask at Cask Pub & Kitchen, Pimlico, London on 7th October 2009. Slightly hazy gopld with white head of foam. Strong hop aroma then exquisite and intense hop kick with delicious grassy herby hop notes. A long satisfying dry hoppy finish. Given the St Austell beers to which I have become accustomed, PROPER JOB really took me by surprise as it had the flavour of a good Dark Star IPA! Excellent!

Clear golden with good white head. Flowery, lemony aroma. Light body, medium carbonation. Flavour has floral and cirus notes like aroma, with nice bitterness in finish. Excellent beer.

cask at Charlie’s in Copenhagen. hazed gold body with a fine bubbled white head. dry and musty lightly pungent noble-like hop nose. grassy dried leaves and a rustic but light cheese and citrus flavor is superbly clean. mild oiliness and pillowy natural carbonation work really well with the flavor profile. has a lovely tenderness and softness throughout. a touch of raw cereal grains and semi-sweet citrus surround it. quite good.

Cask at the Gunmakers. Lovely deep golden color. Big citrus, floral nose. Light but firm bitterness backed by real citrus-hop flavor. Very quaffable and refreshing. Nothing revolutionary here, just a damned fine and drinkable hoppy ale.
