COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask; Regular.
Trelawny Ale invokes the best Cornish traditions, heritage and innovation. Locally grown barley is gently roasted to give this beer a classic burnished copper colour and a robust full body which belies its modest strength. A unique blend of traditional English Golding, and specially imported Galaxy hops from distant South Australia harmonise to give this beer a distinctive character of the old, and the new world. Peach and apricot notes dominate the aroma, with hints of butterscotch and toffee apple. The taste is full, with toasted biscuit and jam being balanced by the mellow, yet assertive bitterness of tangy hops.

Cask handpull at The Old Buttermarket Canterbury. I needed some thing to take the taste away of some crap Spoons fest veers. Its an ok light golden bitter with some interesting pale malt and an interesting dark fruit aroma and flavour. Like blackcurrant maybe. So could be willamette hops or similar. Ok

Cask conditioned at The Kildare Hotel, Minehead, Somerset. Amber with white head. Sweetish with toffee malts and a flowery, reasonably hoppy character. Perhaps a touch cloying with the sweetness, but just enough hoppiness to keep it interesting. It’s ok.

Cask conditioned handpump Althorp Coaching Inn Great Brington 04/01/13. A brown beer with an off-white head. Gentle orangey hoppy flavours are very palateable. The nose is yeasty and dulkl and gives no suggestion of the decent hops which are to follow. A drinkable fairly weak bitter.

Cask (GBBF2011, Wed)
Eggy bitter aroma. Simple bitter taste. Sweet and boring. Strange that the commercial description mentions brewing flaws so proudly, but maybe that explains why they didn’t end up with a great beer.

Cask gravity at The Bastille Day Beer Festival, Horse & Groom, Caulcott, Oxon, Friday 13th July 2012 Pours amber, reasonable clarity. Described as Peach and Apricot notes, I’m afraid that these particular desciptions have rather passed me by. Little bit dry, some fruitiness. Touch bland but otherwise ok. A5 A3 T6 P3 Ov11 2.8
