3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle, brought to the pre-baby party by Mr Goodall. I have to admit having very low expectations here. I’ve generally struggled to enjoy any St Austell beers in the past, and my sampling of the cask version appears to have discovered a poorly conditioned bland buttery mess. So I wasn’t super excited about this! But it was actually ok. Some crisp biscuity malt, a fresh spicy hop flavour, restrained bitterness in good balance. Very quaffable. Gosh. Who’d have thought.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours out of the bottle (bought at Asda in Eastbourne) in a deep, ligth hazy amber - light brown colour with steady airy head and flat body. Aroma of malt and cookies. Taste of biscuits, cookies, light bread, hay, mild hops and flowers. Finish of cookies. Mild and very un-bitter to drink, not a bad one.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle from ASDA in Eastbourne shared with McTapps. Some grassy nose with a bit of caramale and vanilla. Easy going with some raisin in the taste. Bit unpleasing bitter finish. Quality beer which just did not hit my taste.

from bottle at mondial 2014, mtl. cloudy pale golden pour with a small off-white cap, some retention and lacing. tea leaves, aromatic tea, grainy and lean pale maltiness, spicy-herbal grassiness, slightly perfumey, English bitters - usual suspects, also spices. moderate to low carbonation, light body - not quite watery, dry grassy-herbal tea finish. nicely crafted bitter.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Bright gold with a decent white head. Lemons and light grapes and maybe a touch of red berry in the nose - almost ribena-like. It’s a little "ribena" in taste as well - blackcurrant with a lemon zing Nicely carbonated making it easy to drink. A quaffer, with plenty of fruity flavour!

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle at Noels House whilst watching the cheating fucking Kiwis scrape a 20-15 win over England B, 07/06/14.
Clear rich golden with a well appointed light beige covering.
Nose is biscuit malt, light spice, woody rinse, nutmeg, dark fruits.
Taste comprises earthy tones, light mineralisms, spice, hint of orange, dark fruit, figgy jam, pineapple jus.
Medium bodied, soft carbonics, light bitter splatterings at the curtain call.
Decent enough bottled bitter - again a lot better than the many mediocre micro cask offerings that show their faces in the provinces!
