off-white thich head on a golden body. Spicy, a little sweet but otherwise not exceptional. A good summer beer though.

UPDATED: JAN 8, 2006 (Bottle 33 cl) Golden, creamy head. Some malty sweetness, but not that much personality or character. Just a soft and pleasant easy-to-drink ale. Bottle fermented. Hides the alcohol very well (mine was 7% ABV). 180893

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Well-balanced Belgian blonde ale. Poured a bottle-fermented cloudy lemon colour with a moderate white head. Light, floral nose - roses, yeast, citrus. Firm-bodied with a tangy alcoholic finish. Orangey notes. Lightly spiced. A fair night-cap. (Bottle)

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
Another very basic blonde of little distinction. Overly clean with no outstanding character. Some spice and candy sugar and not much else but for some straw at the end.

2.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Light yeasty aroma, bubblegum, and some citrus. Bit metallic. Dull golden clear with foamy white lacing head. Light watery body with high carbonation. Starts with a bit of sweetness, Belgian yeast, and mild acidity. Bitterness increases to the finish, with a bit of chalky after. Hops are crisp, but overtly bitter. Mild chemical bitterness.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Meringue again, as in its siamese sister Gauloise Blonde, but maybe a drier overall perfume.
Minute herbal hop flavor crawls among ambitious effervescence and under flying chalky bits. At once, dry and watery.
Yawning is not necessarily a sign of complete disinterest.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pie dough and sweet malts in the nose with strong lemon and honey notes draw you into this one. Hazy yeallow couloured body with small-bubbled, white head that recedes to cover with very little lacing. Tart lemon and strong wheat flavour seems very reminiscent of a witbier though spiciness is absent. Medium-light body is fluffy in structure with an engaging prickliness in the mouth. Bottle (Best Before 11/09/05) enjoyed with MartinT and Rastacouere.
