fidelis83 (707), Clinton, Iowa, USA Jan 30, 2009 Pours a murky chocolate brown with a tall light tan head that has great retention. Aroma is toasty malt, dark pitted fruit, raisin, molasses, light yet potent grape, caramel/candi sugar. grilled pear and apple, sweet grain, and buttered rice. Flavor is toasty grain malt, caramel, dried berries, white chocolate, toffee, and more rice. danielcurtis81 (879), San Diego, California, USA Jan 29, 2009 Bottle, aged just over a year. Pours a murky mahogany with a medium white head that dissipates. Strong wine aromas, loads or dry fruit, some grape, sweet brown sugar. Sweet malts, a certain buttery-ness to it like a red wine, a little but of spice too, a faint hint of yeasty flavors late. Very complex. Mouth is warm with a good effervescence to it. Real good beer! NdubyaB (11), Cartersville, Georgia, USA Jan 28, 2009 This beer is great. I have tried to introduce people to this beer because of its impressively soft and fruity flavor. Despite its cloudy and flakey (debris floating in my glass) appearance this beer is light smooth and great. As of now I am impressed with this beer even at its higher than average price even at the beer store. biggmike (480), Hattiesburg, Mississippi, USA Jan 27, 2009 Poured a murky dark brown color with a nice off-white head that hung around a little while. Aroma is of dark fruit, and malty sweetness. Flavor is fruity and sweet with a taste of brown sugar. Alcohol is not real evident in taste, but is warming. I don’t know what I was expecting, but this did not live up to the hype. I will admit that Quad’s are not my favorite style. Okay but honestly I have had much better.

Very yeasty aroma, which one would expect from this kind of beer. Reminds of Rochefort 10. Sweet.
Nice flavor with it’s own kind of complexity. Something akin to cinnamin in the taste. A well developed palate as well. Overall this is a well distinguished brew. armando629 (952), Budapest, Hungary Jan 23, 2009 What a fortune! I can taste a sample of this fantastic beer! Poured dark brown into a Westvleteren trappist glass...The beer has a superb tan.beige head what never disappears...Complex aroma with lot of dried fruits, spices like clove, cinnamon and vanilla, fine roasted perfumes, chocolate-cocoa beans, coffe perfume. The flavor is thick with a smooth mouthfeel. Bomb of tastes: fine dark chocolate-cocoa beans, nuts, roasted aromas, fine spicy vanilla, cinnamon and clove feeling with fine dried fruits like plum or raisins. Excellent! MPosey (21), , Georgia, USA Jan 21, 2009 A nice beer that pours with little head, which matures to just a touch of a head. Not too foamy. Very intense fruity attack which fades to an almost wine-like finish. A very enjoyable beer.
