Oct 15, 2008 A perfected quad. Amazing. Very complex nose and palate. You’ve got raisins, dates, prunes, dark fruits, chocolate, coffee, light caramel...so much. Somewhat bitter rich palate. Just great.

Oct 15, 2008 12 oz. bottle. Pours a dark brown/mocha color almost porter like in its appearance with a medium sized off-white head. Malt and spice flavors with a hint of bread. Light to medium bodied. Finished a little peppery. Quite enjoyable.

Oct 12, 2008 This is a nice beer. A little fancy for my taste. Definitely a sipping beer. Pours a nice brown with a off white head. You can definitely taste the alcohol in this one.

Oct 12, 2008 Dark Brown color with a nice head. Fruity aroma, starts with an apple flavor and as the bottle is emptied turns more to a raisin flavor. It’s good, but not my favorite.

Oct 12, 2008 (Bottle, Akkurat, Stockholm, 10 Oct 2008) Dark brown colour with frothy, pale brown head. Malty nose with toasted grain, lots of dark fruit, prunes, raisins and hints of herbs. Malty taste with notes of dried fruit, dark rye bread, raisins, prunes and brown sugar. Full bodied, sweet, with medium bitterness. Emphasis is on the malt and it succeeds quite well in not being cloying despite the loads of sweet malt. Very nice beer.

Oct 10, 2008 Great label...pours dark copper color with big off white head, great head retention, aroma is mostly yeast and alcohol, medium mouthful with flavors of dark fruits, oak, chocolate mousse, good aftertaste that isn’t overpowering...a masterful balance and really satisfying drink

Oct 9, 2008 Deep amber beer with medium lasting white head. Spices, malt and bread lead to smooth finish. Rather thin-bodied. Beaten easily by Rocheforte Trappiste 10. Disappointing.

does not count  Oct 9, 2008 A great Belgian beer all around. This is a close substitution for the famed Westvleteren 12, and is a lot easier to find. My taste came from the tap at the Toronado in San Diego. The color is a mud brown with lots of suspended yeast. The flavor is fruity and sweet. Not a lot of bitterness to it. Overall, this is a very enjoyable beer to drink and share with some friends. Cheers!
