Commercial Description:
The absolute top quality in the hierarchy of the St. Bernardus beers. It is also the beer with the highest alcohol content (10.50 %). A dark ivory coloured beer with a high fermentation. The show piece of the brewery. Thanks to its soft and unconditionally genuine aroma, the beer can be smoothly tasted. The Abt has a very fruity flavour.

Pours a deep brown with a lingering tan head. Smells of raisins, figs, and caramel. As the temperature rises every sip changes. The closest things to a Westy 12.

Glory in a glass. Deep brown dark colour with a speckled tan head. Smell of rum, licorice, coffee, toffee, chocolate mousse. Sipping this is like sucking on angel’s wings...a bounty of desireable tastes just dancing on the tongue; flavours abounding on the palate like some sort of wildflower blooming and bursting. Extremely well balanced and the 10.5% alcohol is felt with a slight burn (aaahhhh) but is very well concealed amongst the rum, oak, malted barley, maple, figs, candied apple, raisins, vanilla, the list goes on and on. I like the jolly parson label as well. Buy or die!

Bottle from Pub Italia. Pours a dark brown with a massive and dense off-white head. Aroma mainly of dark fruits (prunes, figs), caramel and some alcohol. The flavour and mouthfeel are creamy with strong notes of brown sugar, dark fruits, caramel, molasses, raisons and chocolate. This is the best beer I have ever had! Try it.

Bottle. Pours with a large head, excellent lacing, and dark brown color. Aromas of molasses, caramel, lime, and plum. Creamy texture with a nearly perfect flavor. Definitely a keeper and will be purchasing this beer again!

Dark brown colour, thick white head that stays for a really long time. Aroma is slightly sweet, with the aroma of plums and raisins. Palate is pleasant, light bubbles form on your tongue as you taste it. The flavour is incredible, dark chocolate, vanilla, plums... it just keeps going. Great lingering taste. Great brew!

Aroma of alcohol, spice, and malt. Slight fruit smell of raisins and other dark fruits. Pours dark with cream colored medium head. Slight coiander flavor. Touch of brown sugar, slight dried fruit and malt. Very enjoyable and seems to get better with each sip.

bottle. deep amber-brown pour with a big off-white head that goes down to thin but never really goes away. aroma of raisins, caramel and yeast. taste is sweet malt, vanilla, and prune. really well balanced and a general warmness - but alcohol is well hidden. I’ve had this several times now and it’s definitely good - but it’s just a tad too sweet for my tastes. always like it more as it warms up though. my main comparison is rochefort 12 and that one is more my style. still, really good quad overall.
