Hophead22 (1056), Redlands, by way of Wisconsin,, California, USA Jul 6, 2008 750 bottle. Very nice dark reddish/brown color. Smelled kind of metalic on first smell, then turned to sweet malty.Slightly acidic but not too bad. Was expecting more, kind of let down. ManiBarfily (1), Oakland, California, USA does not count Jul 6, 2008 Great intro to the Belgium family of beers. Very interesting aroma and creamy flavor with a hint of licorice. So far one of the best beers I’ve ever had! kaptnkrunch (2), , Alabama, USA does not count Jul 5, 2008 Usually when I pay $10 per bottle for a beer, I expect to be let down. This beer was great though. They did a great job hiding the alcohol taste. Head that wouldn’t quit, and flavor that you’d sell your soul for. Definitely one of the best beers I’ve had. HonkeyBra (1258), Lemont, Illinois, USA Jul 3, 2008 Pours a dark cloudy brown with a thick, frothy eggshell colored head. The nose is complex and alluring, caramel malt, belgian yeast, and dark fruits in the aroma, with a touch of spice and candi sugar. The flavor of this beer is amazing. Nuts, honey, cloves, cinnamon and other spices, fruit and belgian yeast. The mouthfeel is dense and creamy, the finish is well-balanced with both the sweet malts and candi sugar shining through. Hides the alcohol very well. Overall, a pleasure to drink, one of the best beers I’ve ever had. kegbear (265), Orange, California, USA Jul 2, 2008 Bottle. Cloudy dark amber. Big malty sweet, orange candy sugar aroma. Nice medium body. Malty sweet, candy sugar and a nice spiciness that make this such a beautifully tasting beer.
