Commercial Description:
The absolute top quality in the hierarchy of the St. Bernardus beers. It is also the beer with the highest alcohol content (10.50 %). A dark ivory coloured beer with a high fermentation. The show piece of the brewery. Thanks to its soft and unconditionally genuine aroma, the beer can be smoothly tasted. The Abt has a very fruity flavour.

750 bottle. Very nice dark reddish/brown color. Smelled kind of metalic on first smell, then turned to sweet malty.Slightly acidic but not too bad. Was expecting more, kind of let down.

Great intro to the Belgium family of beers. Very interesting aroma and creamy flavor with a hint of licorice. So far one of the best beers I’ve ever had!

Usually when I pay $10 per bottle for a beer, I expect to be let down. This beer was great though. They did a great job hiding the alcohol taste. Head that wouldn’t quit, and flavor that you’d sell your soul for. Definitely one of the best beers I’ve had.

Pours a dark cloudy brown with a thick, frothy eggshell colored head. The nose is complex and alluring, caramel malt, belgian yeast, and dark fruits in the aroma, with a touch of spice and candi sugar. The flavor of this beer is amazing. Nuts, honey, cloves, cinnamon and other spices, fruit and belgian yeast. The mouthfeel is dense and creamy, the finish is well-balanced with both the sweet malts and candi sugar shining through. Hides the alcohol very well. Overall, a pleasure to drink, one of the best beers I’ve ever had.

Bottle. Cloudy dark amber. Aroma of malt, yeast, candy and sweet fruit. Tastes of sweet fruit, cherries and almond. Slight dry finish makes it well balanced. Very nice and easy to find.

Appearance: Cloudy, dark brown. Lots of thick, darkish head. Aroma: Dark fruit and malt. Alcohol, metallic. Biscuits. Taste: Quite alcoholic. Malty, some bitterness. Tongue-tingling. Info: 330ml bottle, 10/6-2007

On tap at Redlight and poured in a snifter. Deep amber pour with a thin white head. Big malty sweet, orange candy sugar aroma. Nice medium body. Malty sweet, candy sugar and a nice spiciness that make this such a beautifully tasting beer. Finishes very clean and hides its strength very well. This beer just blends everything together so well and is a real joy to drink.

750 ml bottle-Pours a hazy brown body with a huge head and a cork that popped out of the bottle and started overflowing. Aroma of belgian yeast, candy, and sweetness. Taste of belgian yeast, malt, caramel, sweetness, and some fruits. This full bodied brew is really smooth and drinkable. Nice job.
