gueuzeisgod (109), Graham, North Carolina, USA Jun 11, 2008 11.2 oz bottle, a gusher- head fades back to a thin film. Smells like fresh banana bread soaked in dark rum topped with toasted marshmallow cream- or maybe pineapple upside down cake covered in caramel. This beer is dessert- such a smooth mixture of fruity flavors and mild hoppiness- alcohol is not at all hot, quite masked in fact. Dangerous beer- top notch. jjuf1853 (467), Land O Lakes, Florida, USA Jun 10, 2008 Bottle pours a rich, opaque, dark brown color with a tan head. Nice thin sheet of lacing along the side of the glass. Looks delicious as it sits in the glass. Lots of yeast, dried fruits and roasted malts in the aroma. Flavor is very complex, initial sweetness of dried fruits, a hefty dose of yeast, lots of spices, and a slightly dry wine-like finish. Alcohol is fairly noticeable, but not overpowering. I really enjoyed this one! thejon375 (390), Tampa, Florida, USA Jun 9, 2008 Excellent beer that only takes one to get the night going. Great flavor of fruits caramel and a hint of oaky chocolate. Brewer101 (162), New Jersey, USA Jun 8, 2008 really nice quad. Thick head and body, the pour was a dark brown with sediment. The aroma was a complex mix of dark fruits, malt, and caramel. The flavor was full of many different things including fruit, malts, and banana. Just an amazing complex beer that really hits the right spot. Amazing indeed. FortyFirkins (25), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Jun 7, 2008 Bottle. Pours deep amber-brown, cloudy with a large frothy head. The aroma for me is mainly of spices (cloves) and fruit, and the taste comes through in that order, with a lasting impression of fruit and a fairly heavy alcohol finish. Nice fall/winter evening beer. tedovertu (259), Apple Valley, Minnesota, USA Jun 6, 2008 Updated: Oct 5, 2008Bottle, tastes of earth fruitcake with over ripe plum finish. The balance is a little off, a little too much alcohol for the flavor. A decent head that does not last very long with little to no lacing. Huge particles floating in the mix. Dark reddish brown beer. Moderately sweet flavor. Soft carbonation that has a great palate feel. This is an excellent beer but not the best value for the money. jmikolich (405), Athens, Ohio, USA Jun 4, 2008 11.2 fl oz, best buy? 12/07/12 pours a deep dark brown full of dark fruit and yeasty flavor... not my favorite but easy to sip on.. alcohol listed as 10% as opposed to 10.5%, A huge head formed when i poured this... not a bad beer, easy to drink and typical of the style. pieterke (4), Geel, Belgium does not count Jun 4, 2008 When i poor my drink a strong "heavy" aroma off fruit and something i cant put my finger on (i mean that in a good way) while drinking it i taste the fruit that i initialy smelled with a strong feeling in the back off my mouth. a bit off a dry end-taste. This is most defo family off the other barley type beers (i mean rochforts 10 and westvleteren 12) and it score’s high at my personal top 20
