FrankSchick (5), Columbia, Maryland, USA does not count May 27, 2008 I had this beer in a pub in Tongeren (Tongers) Belgium one year ago, and then recently discovered a source locally in the States. It was good. TheCaptain (526), Lancaster, Pennsylvania, USA May 26, 2008 Large bottle - popped the top and savored, the Devonshire Knights ruled this to be number one in our latest tasting! Well rounded and very drinkable. Nice solid off white head, dark mellow amber. A fruit and roasted character with light spice which blended so well with the alcohol. Texture and taste were all there. A show piece indeed! note666 (282), Eindhoven, Netherlands May 26, 2008 330 ml bottle. nice brown amber colour. BIG white/creme head. strong complex taste, fruit and chocolat. moseslikesbeer (183), conestoga, Pennsylvania, USA May 26, 2008 winner of last Devonshire tasting and my fav of the night. Bottle. Nice off brown color. smelled of dark fruit and spice. very warm mouth feel. Left me throat and stomach warm also. Left me wanting more. Another Belgian with a high ABV% but masked VERY well by the complexe flavors in this bottle. One of the Devonshire guys said this doesn’t really taste like a beer and it is more wine like and I have to agree with that but it is a beer and it is amazing! rmussman (905), California, USA May 24, 2008 Very nice. Solid flavors all around. Pours light brown with a thick head. Flavors are very hearty and show they are well crafted as they go down uber smooth. Very fruity. Well positioned brew. wcampbell (572), Central, South Carolina, USA May 23, 2008 Awesome. Very dense and complex. Dark fruit flavor, mainly raisins. Some spices as well. Lightly sweet, but not too much so. Excellent drinkability for such a strong beer. Lightly carbonated and full bodied. DaveCampbell68 (5), USA does not count May 22, 2008 Poured a dark orange with an immediate scent of apples and raisins to me. Alcohol pretty stong in the taste, along with a taste of plums, vanilla, anis. Sort of heavy on the palate and very carbonated. RobertGBG (109), Göteborg, Sweden May 22, 2008 Descents Belgian beer, the more I drink them the more I like them, and this I an pretty good one.
