Aroma of clean dark sugar, mild malt and a small amount of hops. Taste is smooth, bears no semblance to 10.50% and has notes of dark fruit, clean water and rich malt. This beer is a bit dry in the mouth, but full. Finish is very rich and flavors linger. foodtraveller (26), Belgium May 12, 2008 Very fruity and with more than an hint of sweet. Not sure if it was the bottle, but this tasted mostly of banana flavoring found in typical dutch candies. Not a bad beer, but not one I would like to buy. As far as it could be from other beers from the same area. MissDolle (20), Odense, Denmark May 9, 2008 Bottle. Reminds me a lot of westvleteren with a complex character. Dark brown with a creamy lasting head. Sweetness from malts, yeast & dried fruits. Full body. Alcohol well hidden. Long end! Todeon (314), Sweden May 9, 2008 Updated: Sep 16, 200875 cl Bottle. Pours a hazy brown/red color. Raisans and som spicy yeast can be found in the aroma. Flavor is sweet and spicy with plenty of fruity notes and candi sugar. The finish is sweet with an alcohol burn. afireinside96 (807), Mountville, Pennsylvania, USA May 7, 2008 rating #200 for me. 330ml bottle into a trappist glass. pours a cola colored brown with a one inch tan head. smells of dark fruits, candi sugar, and a bit of spicy yeast. deep rich flavor of dried fruits and yeast. finishes with some fruity esters, sour grapes, spice, and a bit of an alcohol burn. mouthfeel is smooth with some foamy character to it. absolutely wonderful stuff, and what a beer to hit a milestone with! tylerss20 (101), New Hampshire, USA May 5, 2008 This one will knock your socks off. Rich and complex. Fruit and spice come through in the nose, heady mouthfeel too. A bit of an alcohol burn on the back end reminds you it’s 10 point. Overall, very good, though a bit frothier than I like. elcaballo (101), Beverly Hills, California, USA May 5, 2008 Very tasty overall. The mouthfeel is not quite as impressive as Rochefort 10 but I enjoy the flavor a bit more. Rich fruity flavors come out along with some light sugar. The dark fruits are brilliantly complex. A beer I will always come back to
