COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The St. Bernardus Abt 12 is the pride of our stable, the nec plus ultra of our brewery. Abbey ale brewed in the classic ’Quadrupel’ style of Belgium’s best Abbey Ales. Dark with a full, ivory-colored head. It has a fruity aroma, full of complex flavours and excels because of its long bittersweet finish with a hoppy bite. Worldwide seen as one of the best beers in the world. It’s a very balanced beer, with a full-bodied taste and a perfect equilibrium between malty, bitter, and sweet. One of the original recipes from the days of license-brewing for the Trappist monks of Westvleteren.

Big body. Nice subtle carb with pour. Alcohol couldn’t hide in this flavorful brew like a Roch does. Another premium ale from Belgium. Only downfall is the price! I guess you get what you pay for! Worth every penny!

Has a very strong smell of caramel, burnt sugar and alcohol. Pours dark cloudy amber with a beige head. Tastes a lot of caramel and burnt sugar. The mouthfeel is smooth and creamy.

WYGLĄD: Barwa ciemno miedziana, zamglone. Piana drobno i średnio pęcherzykowa, nietrwała, niska.
AROMAT: Na początku zapach warzyw strączkowych (fasolka szparagowa, groszek), belgijskie drożdże, bardzo dużo przypraw i ziół, nuty likierowe, kandyzowane owoce.
SMAK: Ponownie ziołowość oraz kandyzowane owoce. Słodowość i przypalony karmel. Wysycenie średnie.
OGÓLNIE: Jest zupełnie identyczne jak w opisie, czyli niesamowicie zbalansowane, pełne i zrównoważone pomiędzy goryczą, a słodyczą. Alkohol idealnie wkomponowany w aromat i smak.

Heerlijk donker bier, stevig schuim, volle smaak. Perfect alternatief voor Westvleteren...

Chestnut brown. Lighter than some root beers, head like soda. Smells strongly yeasty like one of my first wine brews. Nice light body and yeasty sourness.

Dark amber colour, beige head diminishes fast. Sweet aroma of malts, dark fruit. Taste is sweet, spicy, notes of plums and bubblegum. Aftertaste has this bubblegum note again. Almost no bitterness. Full, creamy, rich body. I can see why this is so famous.

(bottle) clear, deep amber colour with a medium tall, beige head; aroma of cereal, then honey; balaced, intense flavour with a long, light bitter finish

A personal favourite of mine. Pours dark brown with a creamy head. Heavy dark fruit aroma with a hint of malt. Complex flavours of caramel, figs and earthy malts. Very full and rich body, nicely balanced with a smooth finish.
