COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The absolute top quality in the hierarchy of the St. Bernardus beers. It is also the beer with the highest alcohol content (10.50 %). A dark ivory coloured beer with a high fermentation. The show piece of the brewery. Thanks to its soft and unconditionally genuine aroma, the beer can be smoothly tasted. The Abt has a very fruity flavour.

330ml brown bottle shared with Gilvanblight and PandoraGreen, Pub Italia, Ottawa. Dark brown pour, small tan head. Almond, nutty, chocolate malt aroma. Flavour is deeply choclately. Alcohol blended in nicely. Carbonation seemed light and restrained. A big but not overpowering beer.

no discussion for being a top beer - although less known than the Westvleteren12, itís almost 100% similar. Nicer from cellar temp than fridge temp, much smoother & richer taste.

Bottle from Piccolo Parco in Taipei. Bready spicy yeasty aroma. Big bubbly taste. Spicy with very malty bready finish. Doesn't taste like 10%. Not bad for this style.

Had this many times but finally sat down to rate this at Piccolo Parco bar in Taipei. Bottle. Aroma of overripe fruit, plum, smoke, leather and a little liquorice - somehow with so much in the nose it still smells sweet and relatively light. Taste is spicy fruit with a long malty finish. Body is dry with loads of fluffy carbonation which, together with the spiciness and high alcohol, gives this a nice kick. A complex Trappist ale that's dry, fizzy, fruity and spicy.

4 year old bottle, marked 01.07.15. Plums, dark fruit and raisins. Complexity is out of control. Time has smoothed out any rough edges. One of the best beers you will ever have. Damn monks are solid.

Malty, fig/plum nose. Hazy copper with perfect persistent head and Belgian lacing. Malty but not cloyingly sweet. Rich toffee, malt and dark fruit flavors completely mask any alcohol heat. Yeast flavors subtle but in perfect compliment. Low but perfect carbonation and just enough hop bitterness for a perfect balance. On tap at Bavarian Lodge in Lisle, IL. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Aroma frutado com notas de cravo. AparÍncia marrom caramelado. Sabor com algo de banana e especiarias. No paladar, um leve amargor. No geral, uma bela trapista, muito parecida com quadrupel. Deliciosa.

On draft at Chelsea's Kitchen. Copper red with white head that dissipates quickly, but leaves nice lacing. Smells of cereal, yeast and a little caramel. Nice, bold brew that finishes dry. Wouldn't have guessed 10% abv. Highly endorse.

Cloudy brown/orange color, average sized tan head. Full body, soft to average carbonation. Aroma is very fruity (dark fruits, maybe cherries), also caramel malts, raisins. Itís sweet but far from too sweet. Just the right amount of sweetness actually. Excellent beer.

Dark pour with a huge head, aroma is malty, banana, candied fruits, sweetness. Taste is liquorice, roast malt, apricots and some sweetness, with alcohol notes towards the end and a smooth finish. Very nice

Deep brown with beige head. Bitter-sweet promising aroma. Complex taste, raisins, dried apricots, cinnamon, banana. The high abv quite well disguised. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
