COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The St. Bernardus Abt 12 is the pride of our stable, the nec plus ultra of our brewery. Abbey ale brewed in the classic ’Quadrupel’ style of Belgium’s best Abbey Ales. Dark with a full, ivory-colored head. It has a fruity aroma, full of complex flavours and excels because of its long bittersweet finish with a hoppy bite. Worldwide seen as one of the best beers in the world. It’s a very balanced beer, with a full-bodied taste and a perfect equilibrium between malty, bitter, and sweet. One of the original recipes from the days of license-brewing for the Trappist monks of Westvleteren.

Poured into a tulip glass. Brown with red hues, two fingers of dirty white head. Solid, it is not going anywhere after many drinks. Smells like wet straw, ripe apricot, orange and molasses. Tastes of more ripe fruit and alcohol; and more complex than I can describe. Medium body with almost no carbonation.. borderline syrupy. One of the best beers out there. Always enjoyable and tough to beat.

Sint Bernardus Abt 12, uitgeschonken in originele Sint Bernardus bokaal.

Bottle @ home. Pours with a brown colour, big medium lasting off-white rocky head. Aroma is rich: medium malty, with notes of fruit; medium hoppy, with notes of herbs; medium yeasty, with notes of basement aromas. Taste is medium sweet, medium bitter, slightly sour. Medium body, creamy texture, average carbonation.

Not sure if this is a Beer or a heaven cookie, is soooo full in every aspects! It is a Dark brown beer not too sweet, is like, the best bock beer i haver had, but without the coffee bitterness...and not too sweet. Got this instead of the westvleteren 12. By the way it is 12% not 10!

11.2 oz bottle poured into chalice. Could review, but honestly the description depicted it perfectly. Alcohol is masked well, hops, yeast and melt ell present in the taste and nose with a hint of fruit notes as well. A great beer.

One of the very best abbey beers. Great palate, fantastic aroma, and beautiful in the glass, this is among the greatest in the world. Not so sure about that label, though.

It has a good perfume, but does not appear so easily to our sense. Dark brown beer, moderately cloudy, with a thick beige foam, forming high and lowered just to keep for a long time, a low to medium height. With a high alcohol content, this beautiful beer remains smooth and balanced. Very complex and intense. Aroma and flavor are levemento burned caramel, brown sugar and cocoa. A fruity touch, black fruits, complements the range of attributes. Its flavor explodes with ease. Your Aftertaste is super persistent and maintains the exact characteristics of flavor that will prolong the striking rustic for nice rustic. The creaminess of the foam, mouthfeel, smoothness even 10% alcohol impresses this drink. The aroma and taste, I would say that there are beers that are more complex than this, but the hard thing is to have this balance, respect a perfect drinkability which lets you take sips and gulps without even going near seasick. A true relative of Westvleteren 12.

Bottle. This was a really tasty beer. One of the better ales I’ve ever tasted definitely in my top beers. Amber in color with a really nice head. Aroma is dried fruit, with a complex whiff. Taste was complex but pleasant.
