4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
light shows a deep reddish mahogany coloring that is beautiful. And incredibly frothy, four-finger head takes it’s sweet time dissipating. Lacing is prevalent and thick.
Wow. Figs, raisins, cherries hit on the very tip of the nose but quickly becomes a strong rum soaked scent. There’s a sweet bread character lurking in the background. Very sweet overall and almost wine like. Phenols are blossoming left and right. Extremely complex and heavy on the nose.
The sweet raisin and fig notes carry well on the front of the tongue and they dominate the top of the palate. The a strong sweet bread character on the center of the tongue that starts to blossom in warming alcohol at the end. The sugar shines on the center but doesn’t carry to powerfully to not let the bread character shine. I’m impressed by the alcohol lightness.
Very, very carbonated and I think that helps the flavors move better than the would otherwise. Things could be quite strong without the powerful carbonation and it makes sense here.
A wonderful example of the Quad as a style and a new favorite. The complex flavors here are wonderful and this is something I could sip on many nights.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
330 ml bottle. Bought in rue de freres in strasbourg. Fantastic deep smell, and very different from anything else I have ever smelled, dark fruit that goes deep into your nose all the way down. Dark color with low white head. Taste is incredibly complex, and the sensations in the mouth has well. Fantastic beer, omg!! Thaste a little like almonds, and you don’t feel the alcohol at all, I imagine myself getting into a lot of trouble with a couple of this ones. A must try for any beer lover, ended up being has good has expected.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
25cl draft at Het Elfde Gebod, Amsterdam on 25-Sep-2015. Dark brown with a rich tan coloured head. Aroma of sweet caramel, syrup and fruit. Full body and medium carbonation. Lots of treacle, chocolate, coffee with a sweet malty backbone. Creamy malty finish. An exceptional beer - the high ABV being really well hidden.

A massive impression of course. On tap it is a really great experience and the taste is massive and heavy. Lightly sweet but alcoholic.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle from Julios. Dark brown with lasting eggshell head and some lace. Woody earthy aroma with fig/raisin and tobacco. Rich medium sweet raisin plum purple grape sweetness with earthy woody tobacco bitterness that lingers with a hint of sweetness but no stickiness, no cloy. Smooth creamy medium body with very fine internal carb. Excellent...as everybody already knows.

4.8 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
The taste of this one is close to the taste of Westvleteren 12. If there is no change to drink a westvleteren 12 or a Rochefort 10, you can choose this one. It comes very close to these two.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle. Had it a couple of times over the years and find it to be a complex, malt forward, medium bodied, medium sweet, well balanced beer. Excellent job.

J’y reviens ... Histoire de comparer mon goût d’aujourd’hui avec celui d’il y a quelques années. Et bien ma foi c’est plus léger et moins bien que dans mon souvenir, même si ça reste de bonne facture ...
