Commercial Description:
The absolute top quality in the hierarchy of the St. Bernardus beers. It is also the beer with the highest alcohol content (10.50 %). A dark ivory coloured beer with a high fermentation. The show piece of the brewery. Thanks to its soft and unconditionally genuine aroma, the beer can be smoothly tasted. The Abt has a very fruity flavour.

From a 750 mL. Pours a deep brown color with a thick and lasting white head. Aroma is sweet and malty with hints of caramel and toffee. Rich and sweet flavor with hints of caramel and brown sugar along with a roasted nut taste. Some alcohol burn near the end of the bottle but not offensive. Great beer.

Pours a beautiful mohogany color with a huge fluffy head. (I might’ve poured it to fast!) Intense aroma with malt standing out, along with some yeast, sugar, and earth. Flavor is quite complex with the alcohol very forward, followed by some cola, dried fruit, malt and finished by the alcohol burn, just as it began. Very nice, but a bit harsh. I’ld suggest aging it a few years to see how it mellows with time.

Nice dark ruby-brown body. Thick creamy light-brown head. "Old Spice" fruit aroma. Features spicy banana, milk chocolate(?)... hm. Really good aroma altogether. Mmm... brown sugary grape taste with peppery plums and hops sweetened with honey. Oaky bourbon qualities come out with a bit more TLC. Pretty thick mouthfeel, but carbonation feel was a bit too fizzy for me.

bottle.....notes fom quad tasting appearance: reddish-dark brown and substantial off-white head aroma: light on the aroma of dark fruits, not very assertive taste: dark fruit, with a longer lasting sweet sensation, mouthfeel was really nice. my favorite so far of the lot.

Dark amber appearance, head depending on the pour and glass. Smells a lot like a Westy 8: roasty pears, smoke, woodiness. Prominent alcohol.

Rerate: Very deep brown - almost black colour. Slightly brownish head. Spicy aroma. A complex, spicy and malty flavour. The flavour starts quite neutral, and finishes bittery. <P> Malt aroma, very dark color. Very nice beer, drinks quite easy.

Pours a rich mahogony color with a bubbly tan head. Smells of fruit and yeast. Tastes extrelmy yeasty with a little bit of hops. Not very smooth, and has a very acidic mouthfeel. Not that great.
