3.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Dark amber colour. Slightly Belgian phenolic aroma with hints of alcohol. Can taste Dried fruit, raisins with an alcoholic finish. Great full bodied beer. High carbonation adds to a lingering bitterness. Overall a nice beer and hides the alcohol ok.

4.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
33 cl bottle@Bartof in Trappist glass@approx 6 degrees C. Pours dark red brown with a small ivory-coloured head with sufficient retention. Aroma of bread, malt and an unplacable sweetnes with a little yeast. Low carbonation, yet a very creamy mouthfeel. Extremely complex taste of Christmas cake, plums, caramel, figs, malt, dark fruit, a little yeast...and lots more which also continues in the long aftertaste. Alcohol of course present, but kept well in check. Despite it’s silly label, this is a great Belgian Abt/Quadrupel.

2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 5/20
Dark brown color beer with a big beige head that does not last much. Aroma is dried fruit, caramel, roasted malt and a lot of alcohol. Flavor is predominantly sweet with some bitterness notes. Alcohol is evident during the whole tasting and drives to a long licor-like end. Thick body and medium carbonation.

4.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
This beer is super complex, so many different things going on, nice yeast character, crazy malt structure, sweetness, you name it. I love this beer, hope they re-release the special edition too.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
A nice abbey appearance, the beer has a dark brown thick white layer of foam, there was a nice smell, however, the smell was not that strong. There was a nice sweet smell with a alcohol aroma. The smell also contained some bitterness. The taste also had this alcohol in it, which fits a dark traditional beer like this. The finish had a nice amount of bitterness.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
From 750ml, poured into Belgian style tulip glass
Aroma: sweet malts, fruits, cherries,
Appearance: brown with red hues, hazy, big tan head with great retention
Taste: Heavy sweet, light bitter
Palate: full body, creamy, average carbonation, dry finish
Overall: Very creamy and smooth quad. Slight taste of alcohol, but it’s subtle against the complex sweetnesses. Aroma is very sweet, almost like fruit and cherries. Nice dark brown color with hazy/cloudy body and big tan head. A very solid quad with a slight bitterness that balances the heavy malty sweetness. I slightly prefer La Trappe over Abt12, but they’re both highly enjoyable.
