Jun 22, 2008 750mL bottle from World of Beer in Tampa. This was one of the best finds I have made at WOB. This beer pours an amber-brown color with a small amount of frothy head. It had an aroma much like the ABT 12, but it had a sugary caramel and dark fruit flavor to it. Heavy in the mouth and in the stomach, but very sippable. Good beer.

Jun 16, 2008 Big bottle. Giant fluffy head. Spicy bread pudding nose. Dry spicy Belgian toffee and coffee cake taste. Amazing licorice, molasses and allspice taste.

May 13, 2008 Bready, yeasty, spicy holiday goodness. Pours out a dark orangish red. Really smooth caramel notes. Not quite up to the other bernardus beers that I have had, but it’s still a good beer. Cheers!

May 11, 2008 75 cl bottle. Pours a dark leather color. Medium sized, off white head. Aroma of cinnamon and honey. Very active carbonation, quite fizzy. Bready malt flavor. Peppery finish with hints of bananas.

May 2, 2008 Not quite up to the Abt. 12, but this is incredibly tasty. Pours a deep, deep brown with a huge frothy head. Warm aroma with fruit (banana), bread and candy sweetness. Flavor is caramel, brown sugar, spices, and a bit of a good banana bread. The earthy yeast flavors balance the fruits wonderfully well, creating a deep, complex and very, very good beer.

Apr 24, 2008 nose of yeasty malts and chocolate; bread-like mellows to a banana-y scent. pours a dark ruby brown. large frothy white head with little lacing that doesn’t last too long. chalky, banana, pear with some dark undertones.

Apr 23, 2008 [bottle] Burnt caramel pour with a large tan head. Aroma of bready yeast and candi sugar. Initial flavor is tart apples, followed by the spices, caramel, and some alcohol burn. Pretty complex flavors.

Apr 22, 2008 [Bottle] Pours hazy reddish-brown with a big off-white head. Aroma is very yeasty with caramel and brown sugar also in there. Taste is also big on yeast with a little banana and caramel. Medium-thick mouthfeel and smooth. A nice beer that I will have try again in a non-tasting setting.
