From bottle : Pours very dark with what seems to be hints of red. A huge head, that stays around forever, kinda a little annoying actually. But it is big and white and fluffy. Fruit and spice are the main smells, but not as nice of a complex nose as some of there other offerings. Taste is again fruit and spice, pretty good though, and no alcohol that i can detect. Suprising how light bodied, being a Christmas ale and all, but i know, its Belgian. Smooth palate, pretty good over all, just wish the aroma was a little more pungent.

With Oakes and Gary from Beveridge in Seattle; billowy pour, deep and dark, not overly aromatic. mild in many ways. Alcohol is well-disguised. smooth and easy yet complex at the same time. not "too" anything. hint of smoke. a characterful sipper.

[913-20071205] 750mL (w/ PhillyBeer2112, others). Weird fruity spice aroma has an earthy hint of orange zest alcohol. Dark dark red body with a long-lasting creamy off-white head. Still strange lightly spicy fruit in the flavour with a hint of sweet pencil lead and peppery chocolate. Medium body is lighter on the tongue than you think. Such a strange beer.

Deep ruby red body, tan big bubble head. Strong raisin, caramel, spice aromas. Good, tastes like a strong, dark Belgian should.

Medium sized head that dissolves quickly. Nice smell of dried fruit, spice, and malt with some alcohol and hops. Nico beer in a solid lineup of good brews from St. Bernardus.

Cloudy brown body with a small light tan head. The nose is lightly sweet with caramel, plums and raisins. The flavor is lightly sweet, lightly bitter with herbal hops, grapes, cotton candy and toffee. Medium body is soft with high, but gentle carbonation.

Řlfestival Horsens 2006. Dark brown with a nice head. Both aroma and flavour are fruity with notes of citrus and spice, but in a sort of edgy way and a bit disharmonic. The flavour also has sweetness, yeast and I do not feel the alcohol. The finish has a nice bitterness, but the grapefruit acidity is a bit dominating. 1627

Bottle from SL, shared by bfeldmann. The pour was burgundy in color, huge off-white head, lots of continuous lacing while consuming, pillowy, all that good stuff. The aroma was soapy floral, fruity, cherries above all things, candy cherries. The flavor was floral, fruity, cherries, plums, light spice, all nicely blended together. The mouthfeel was full, airy, yeasty dry to finish, almost dubbel like in that regard. A nice brew.
