Just phenomenal. The Blegians really know how to brew a christmas ale - everything about the flavor character here is quintessentially christmas, and one of the most warming, comforting beers you’ll drink. There’s no syrupy texture, no nauseating cinnamon, just expertly balanced flavors like nutmeg and dried fruits that blend together to create something unique and beautiful. Don’t pass up any chance to enjoy this. However, IMO, Affligem Noel is a similar but slightly better version of this style of ale.

Deep dark red-brown colour with a foamy dark white head and good lacings. Clear yeasty barnyard aromas supported by fruity, caramel and alcohol herbal aromatic notes arise. At first soft carbonated the beer develops a tangy effervesent texture. Flavours of sweet fruityness, caramel malts and brown sugar are predominant. The finish is offering some herbal sweet-bitter notes lasting relatively long.

Brownish ruby colour, off white head. Aroma of dark fruits, raisins, nuts, clove, a bit booze. Taste is light sweet, a bit bitter, spicy flavour. Medium to full body, oily to creamy texture, average carbonation. Very nice.

The 2014 Birthday beer. The beer pours a murky reddish brown with a huge generous rocky light tan coloured head that lasts. The aroma yeast, dark fruits, fresh baked bread, roasted malt, and spices. The mouthfeel was full-bodied with above average carbonation. The flavour was dark malt, plums, nutmeg, yeast, and roasted malt. ANother great beer from my favourite brewer!

Brune foncée, effervescence forte, col beige crémeux et aérien. Malts légèrement torréfiés, caramel, un peu de réglisse, épicée, chaleur d’alcool assez présente.

Brown and unclear. Beige head, medium lasting. Spicy aroma, mint, cardamon. Lactic-acid notes. Too sharp and unpleasent. Rerate: Aged a couple of years, much more harmonic now. Aroma of faint spice and herbs, a lot of different ones, almost harmonic. Flavor is mainly sweet. More spice. Some mint, grain.

Murky brown with a creamy tan foam. Raisins and nutmeg on the nose with a touch of sugar. Body is full with fine carbonation. Dark fruit flavors with a bit of alcohol. Clean finish leaves me wanting more. Nice.

Super bomber into a pint. Pours a cherry cola murky amber red brown. Head is enormous at first, mounting a few inches, then subsides to a thin layer of white cream foam. Lacing is light and spotty. Aroma of spices of Xmas, orange, nutmeg, and coriander. Taste of sweet apple, orange, melded malt s of Belgium, and evasive hops. Great beer for the season.
