Corked & Caged 750 ml Bottle. Dark reddish brown in appearance with an impressive layer of thick beige foam and lots of active carbonation trails. The aroma is a blend of caramelized sugars, figs, pears, yeast and panettone. The flavor offers up a healthy serving of toffee, toasted malt, raisins and black cherries in addition to some cinnamon, Belgian yeast and candi sugar notes. Also a moderate alcohol presence in the background that helps to keep the massive flavors in check. Mouthfeel is full-bodied and creamy with naturally strong carbonation while the finish brings a final dose of caramel, malt and holiday spices. Overall, an exceptionally tasty brew to celebrate the holidays with.

Large bottle served in a large Piraat tulip. A: Dark but clear red-brown body. Large, durable, off-white foamy head, with exceptional lacing. Patchy sticky lace decorates the glass well after tipping. Aroma: Dark fruits and dark bread crust. Faint spices. yeast and an unforutnate touch of must. Flavor: Sweet, but not overly so, with hints of toffee and brown sugar. Hints of spices including nutmeg, cinnamon and vanilla. A suggestion of rum. Dark fruit in abundance. No mustiness, thankfully. Complex and layered. Faint, ripe banana. Feel: medium body. Medium-heavy but soft carbonation makes for a light and lively feel.. Smooth, sticky and gently warming. O: More like an ABT 12 than St. Bernardus Prior 8. Better than the Prior 8 and, if not for the aroma, it would be better than the ABT 12 too. Despite the Xmas theme, quite enjoyable in the summer. Highly recommended.

Very malty and herbal beer. Sweet as well of course, but in a good way. The spices balance the sweetness that mostly dominates christmas beers.

Bottle from Beers Of Europe [040514]
Very dark brown, big frothy tan head, good lacing
Aroma of sweet dark fruits, touch of port, sweet yeast esters, no alcohol, superb fruity malt aromas
Taste of caramel malts, dark fruit cake fruits, touch spicy, raisin malts, hint of date, soft candi sugar, some alcohol, slight bready malts
Palate - medium carb, medium to full body, fairly sweet. Finish as main flavour, light fruit cake spices, nice fruity malts, some warming alcohol.
Overall - Really nice malty beer, but not as good as Abt 12

Bottle at home, my brothers birthday, 2012, cheers mate! Dark brown with a nice but quickly fading tan head. Aroma is quite complex, Belgian yeast, spice, dark fruit. Flavour is similar, bit of a boozy punch in there. Quite enjoyed it but not as much as I thought I would.

Bona cervesa, molt maltosa, dolça i acaramelada, millor beure-la poc a poc. Buena cerveza, muy maltosa, dulce y acaramelada, mejor tomarla despacio.

Bottle. Dark red body, big lasting white head. Aroma of prunes, caramel, plum. Massive taste of dried fruit, yeast, caramel, light bitterness, sweet spicy finish with a full orange fruity aftertaste. A very nice beer!

Time for a little Christmas in April. Saw this single bottle sitting on a shelf at a local store and couldn’t help but to pick it up. Pours a deep mahogany with a thick and fluffy cream colored head. Looks fantastic. Aroma is fresh dough, slightly earthy, fruit cake, and maple syrup. Flavor is dark fruits, holiday baking spices, booze, brown sugar, and a bitterness that lingers throughout. Quite tasty. Perfectly carbonated and feels prickly on the palate and goes down smooth.

Det här var intressant, aromen hintade om tuggummi men inget tuggummi kunde hittas i smaken. Däremot kunde jag hitta belgisk jästkultur, råsocker och jord i smaken, kroppen var stabil till tisen och balansen var riktigt fin den också.

Pours a dark brown with a creamy head, floral nose with a hint of plum. Alcohol doesnt power thru as much as the abt. Great beer
