Extra 4 is a classic Belgian “Single” style, light golden in color, full of flavor and character and brewed with more hops and bitterness in comparison to the other well known St Bernardus abbey ales. Extra 4 will be brewed with high fermentation and bottled conditioned with an ABV of 4.8%. Extra 4 will be a unique, tasty and refreshing spring and summer quencher with a lower alcohol content than such other popular St Bernardus products as Abt 12, Tripel and Prior 8.

If you're into the trendy "session" beers (aka weak beer not worth the calories), and want a descent abbey session, then pick some up. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Piwo dobre, delikatne i przyjemne. Jasne ze srednia piana sredniej wielkości i szybko opadającej. Lekko mgliste, jaskrawo zolta barwa, zapach cytryny i ananasa. W smaku kwaskowe leciutko, mało slodowe, mało słodkie, trochę ananasa i melona w smaku. Chmielne trochę i nuta kolendry, trochę jakby witbira przypominalo mi

0.33 l bottle from ’De Bierkoning’, bottled in April 2016. Clear, pale greenish yellow with a massive, dense, stable, white head. Grassy, floral and slightly spicy aroma of fresh grass, some lychee, some flowers and spicy hops. Sweetish, floral and slightly grassy taste of biscuits, straw and some citrus, followed by a medium long, moderately bitter, dry-grassy finish. Medium body, quite effervescent mouthfeel, lively carbonation. A bit too subdued to my liking, but keeps its promise to be a decent thirst quencher due to the noticeable hops.

330ml bottle into a Westmalle chalice at home on 17th June 2016 during a ’Random tasting evening’ with myself. Very, very pale body, the head a smooth white blanket. Highly carbonated and almost ’fizzy’ palate wise. The aroma is yeasty, slightly citrusy and spicy. The taste is a complex blend of many flavours even thought it is supposed to be a summer, refreshing brew. Impressed, as I have been with most beers from this brewery.

Medium aroma of malts, Belgian yeast, flowers and spices.

Hazy/turbid yellow/golden beer with a medium white/off-white head.

Medium sweet with malts, Belgian yeast, flowers and spices.

This beer is rather intense, complex and balanced. It still is very easy to drink and simply super refreshing.

I thought I had rated this, but I had not. But now I have. Anyhoo, Pale yellow, big white head. Smells like yeasty fresh bread. Taste is yeasty and grassy, with a note of vanilla. Pretty tasty stuff.
