COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Extra 4 is a classic Belgian “Single” style, light golden in color, full of flavor and character and brewed with more hops and bitterness in comparison to the other well known St Bernardus abbey ales. Extra 4 will be brewed with high fermentation and bottled conditioned with an ABV of 4.8%. Extra 4 will be a unique, tasty and refreshing spring and summer quencher with a lower alcohol content than such other popular St Bernardus products as Abt 12, Tripel and Prior 8.

If you're into the trendy "session" beers (aka weak beer not worth the calories), and want a descent abbey session, then pick some up. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Plumb and alcohol aroma. Deep gold appearance with a slightly darker tint. Taste highlights the alcohol with a dryness on the palate. Overall average considering the high price.

Fris hoppig aroma licht fruitig. Helder als een mooie pils met een bubbelachtige kraag. Drinkt zich heerlijk verfrissend zacht weg met een aangename citrus/perzik fruitige afdronk.

Golden with a nice fluffy white head. Aroma is fresh bread, Belgian yeast, pear, heather honey, hint of banana. Light bodied, slightly creamy mouthfeel, nicely balanced and surprisingly complex. Taste is fresh white bread with a drizzle of honey, Belgian yeast spice. Quite nice.

Pour is a hazy yellow with a large white head. Aroma is of dry lager malt with some Belgian yeast esters. Flavor is floral with some honeysuckle and wheat malt. This is kind of like a kolsch with Belgian yeast strain. A little lager like but also a bit fruity and floral.

Tasting at Matt’s
Cloudy pale blond color, small head. Dry beer, strong honey and coriander character, lightly flowery, with correct bitterness, and wheat in the final.
For what it is, good, with character and artfully brewed.

Bottle. Hazy gold color, well carbonated as Belgian beers tend to be. Lots of yeast in the aroma. Dry, true to style. Malt flavor and more yeast. Very light lemon, some mineral character. Excellent palate and full of flavor like all of theor other beers.
