COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Extra 4 is a classic Belgian “Single” style, light golden in color, full of flavor and character and brewed with more hops and bitterness in comparison to the other well known St Bernardus abbey ales. Extra 4 will be brewed with high fermentation and bottled conditioned with an ABV of 4.8%. Extra 4 will be a unique, tasty and refreshing spring and summer quencher with a lower alcohol content than such other popular St Bernardus products as Abt 12, Tripel and Prior 8.

If you're into the trendy "session" beers (aka weak beer not worth the calories), and want a descent abbey session, then pick some up. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Tallahassee, Fl - Market Square Liquors - 11.2 oz bottle. Slight haze to the light golden pour with a wispy snot white head that clings to the edge of the glass. Aroma has some light spicy safffron-like accents, a touch of yeast and grassiness, Flavor has some yeasty notes, some light biscuit-like sweetness, a bit of pear and pineapple fruitiness. Mouthfeel has a nice spritz to it

Helder lichtgeel bier met weinig schuim. Smaak is licht bitter hoppig met ietwat grasachtige smaak. Is erg waterig, valt mij erg tegen.

330ml bottle. Clear golden color. Medium size, white head, stays. Malty, sweet, plastic in aroma. Malty, spicy hop exctract in taste. Hop exctract in aftertaste. Feels so cheap.

Bottle from Burg Bieren, BB 19 06 16, large sample. Almost clear yellow color, huge rocky white head. Aroma of light spicy yeast, bit flowery and grassy hop, noble, slight grainy malt. All quite delicate, but perfectly balanced. Soft grainy sweetness in taste, slight spicy. Light, but tasty. Slight bitter in the finish even. Wonderful saisonesque, but also slight belgian white notes. Lovely stuff.

330ml bottle from Beers of Europe. Obviously doesn’t set out to be a complex beer, but for what is it’s a nice, balanced, quaffable blonde. This would be me go-to Belgian beer if I had access to it.

Bottle. Pours a hazy golden color with an average sized white head. Aroma is mostly grainy with a bit of fruitiness. Plenty of fruitiness and spiciness characteristic of Belgian yeast here to go along with some bitter hoppiness as well. Quite tasty and unique, glad I was finally able to get my hands on this.

0,33L bottle (shared by FatPhil, thanks!). Pours golden with off-white head. The head stays. Aroma is sweet, fresh fruits, apples. Flavor follows the nose. Overall: very nice, was really surprised how much I liked it.

11.3 oz bottle purchased at Bottle Barn in Santa Rosa. The aroma is a bit dusty and floral. Nice fruity esters here. Moderately hazy blonde body with a small, white fizzy head present. Starts with a pretty intense herbal flavoring. Fairly floral and a bit more bitter with earthy hops than I would imagine. High levels of carbonation late, with almost a mineral bite. An interesting beer that is very dry, and quite carbonated. Not to my liking entirely.
