Extra 4 is a classic Belgian “Single” style, light golden in color, full of flavor and character and brewed with more hops and bitterness in comparison to the other well known St Bernardus abbey ales. Extra 4 will be brewed with high fermentation and bottled conditioned with an ABV of 4.8%. Extra 4 will be a unique, tasty and refreshing spring and summer quencher with a lower alcohol content than such other popular St Bernardus products as Abt 12, Tripel and Prior 8.

If you're into the trendy "session" beers (aka weak beer not worth the calories), and want a descent abbey session, then pick some up. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Clear straw color with white head. Aroma is really floral and slightly spicy from the yeast. Taste starts grainy and continues with some floral/tea notes. Really light body and crisp carbonation. Overall it’s really easy to drink and refreshing.

Bottle @ home from Belgium in a Box. Giallo dorato, quasi paglierino, dal velato all’opalescente. Schiuma bianca fine e persistente. Aroma non molto intenso, ma fine. Lievito belga, floreale di gelsomino, pane appena sfornato, erbaceo, cereali. Gusto abboccato, piuttosto amaro, fresco, pochissima acidità. Poco calda, piuttosto rotonda nonostante l’amaro accentuato, carbonatazione soft, equilibrata e di decisamente armonica

12 ounce bottle. How have I never had this before? Almost clear golden with ample carbonation rising. A big off white gushing head that is slow to fall. Some sediment on the bottom of the bottle. A gently fruity and malty nose. Flavor is Belgian yeast to begin. That soft fruit and pasty malts. It drinks like a lighter version of their classics and with the 4.8% ABV I suppose that is what it is. Some lemon and tropical fruit notes.
