Bottle. Pours a dark brown. light two finger tight foamy head. Aroma is of pizza dough with a bit of earthy dark fruits. The flavor is even better, dark fruits, spices, a bit of a bread flavor, caramel, and malt. Medium body, has a good smooth feel. Overall this is a very good beer. Not as heavy as many, and more balanced flavor.

Muddy brown, thin beige head. aroma of red aples and molasses, mixed with a bit of rum. Flavor is molasses and fruit, like maybe figs or prunes. Surprisng amount of alcohol heat for 6.7% beer. Nice earthy, rough finish.

Bottle. Pours a deep brown with some light pouring through and a two finger or so head that is fairly dense. Has aromas that are woody and nutty with a bit of bread dough, yeast and spice. Flavor is a little different, however, as it mixes dark fruit, sawdust, allspice and rye bread. Thought this would be much different, although this is pretty darn acceptable.

I would expect nothing less from St Bernardus. Taste of sweet fruit, caramel, malt. Mid to full bodied and yet easily drinkable.

A "gyenge" Pater csak az alkohol fokában az.Mármint a többihez képest.Sötét színű,sűrű,édeskés,gyümölcsös,karam ízű főzet.

0.33l bottle, pale brown pour with tan head. Quite light for a "dark"; beer, fruity, sweet and caramel flavours, some malt, no alcohol. Very enjoyable and full of flavour.

Bottle, Stirchley Wines and Spirits, Birmingham. Poured a hazy brown colour with a dissipating white head.. Some fruit, yeast and spice in the aroma. Flavour was sweetish and malty. Some dark fruit and spice in there somewhere. Carbonation was a bit on the heavy side. Nothing special on the whole and expected a lot more.
