Pours lighter than 8, but still looks great. Lots of cream, malted notes, and some familair molasses notes as well. Finish is more alcholic than the 8, also thinner. Brewer101 (162), New Jersey, USA Jun 6, 2008 What a nice beer from St. Bernardus. Shock I know, because all of their beers rock. This one had a great pour with wonderful lacing. Its aroma was a creamy malt that also was prominent in its flavor. Overall such a great beer, a much try. jredmond (1015), New Jersey, USA Jun 5, 2008 Bottle. Pours a body similar to Prior 8, but with a bit lighter with reddish hue. The aroma is dark fruit and molasses. Taste is fruit and alcohol. LinusStick (1831), Moon Twp, suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA May 24, 2008 A delicious and great Belgian beer. I’ve always loved St. B and was looking forward to trying this. Aroma was nice and full. Strong dark caramel, fruit, spice and yeast. Pour was a perfect deep murky dark brown with a 3 finger off white head. Taste was very unique and delicious. Strong biting yeast, dark fruit and a hint of banana. After the swallow there is a strong caramel aftertaste. Almost as caramelly as Saranac Caramel Porter. Strong carbonation rounds out this great beer. Tmoney99 (4659), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA May 23, 2008 Bottle from River’s Bend.
