3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle 0.33l from brewery. Pours hazy brown with fast vanishing head. Aroma is malt, caramel, molasses . Taste is low bitterness, medium sweetness, dried fruit, plum. Good abbey beer for 6.7 ABV which of course lacks the punch of prior and abt.

Pours a cloudy brown with a small off-white head. Aroma of malts, yeast, slight caramel, light dried fruits. Medium sweetness. This is a nice enough brew, but the Prior 8 and especially the 12 are better.

Not bad, but Bernardus has better beers! It has full body and color, tastes a bit chocolate like. I prefer the Prior 8 or Abt.

3.1 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20
Dark almost cloudy brown pour with an off white head on top. Sweet and sugary smell. Wheat bread and chocolate malts. Nice bitter, malty and dark heavy wheat brown bread in the taste. Love the lingering bitter aftertaste. Something sweet in there I can’t put my finger on. Mouthfeel is a bit on the thin side for my likings. But still a nice abbey.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Medium sized light brown head. Nut brown, foggy. Aroma has yeast and orange.
Taste has malt, orange and wood. Nice full body with a crisp bitter note. Aftertaste has some tobacco in it. A bit shallow in comparison to the quadrupels and such, but very good on its own.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Yeast, candi sugar, light roast malt, and some edge of funik. Clear light tea color, thin beige head. Rough and beautiful fruit in the initial, some raisins, some nutty notes too / sweetness mellows nicely in mid, nearly balanced, with a little carb tingle / finishes mild and smooth. Very good. A solid dubbel. Smooth and full, but not overly sweet.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
APPEARANCE: dark brown beer, nice stable beige head. NOSE: quite some malts, chocolate, somewhat fruity even. TASTE: heavy malty, though little more watery, not so much carbonation. Not bad, but Bernardus has better beers!
