Medium body, slick texture, and soft carbonation. Finish is medium long and relatively well balanced with a lot of buttery notes. Overall a standard bruin.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Intense chestnut brown, small head. Yeasty bread-like aroma. Malty notes. Full aroma, dark bread, a bit sweet but developing a full and bitter taste. Quite rich for only 6,7 % alc.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
This is a nice dubbel. Fairy light on the tongue in the typical Belgian way, but flavorful. Some caramel, maybe raisins, botanical yeast. Not a blockbuster like the bigger StBs.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
2015/03/03 - Pours a hazy brown-amber colour with a soapy, khaki head that quickly reduces to a film. Aroma is yeast, mild banana, doughy notes, caramel, raisin, dates, figs and herbal hops. Taste starts doughy yeast and mild banana, shifts to dark fruits (raisins, dates, figs) and caramel and finishes with mildly bitter, herbal hops. A nice "lighter" beer from St. Bernie.

4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
12oz bottle from a sample pack. Pours darker than the 12, 8 or tripel. Almost no head. Aroma has very slight notes of spice must. Taste is smooth. No hint at all of the ABV. Maybe the best of the St. Bernardus beers.
