Quietman (160), Florida, USA Mar 29, 2008 Cloudy brown.Off-white head.Sweet aroma, brown sugar, dark dried fruit, a hint of citrus.Spicy sweet flavor.Lingering carbonation.Very drinkable belgian ale.Good. jkwalking05 (1483), Arlington, Texas, USA Mar 17, 2008 Brown in color, cloudy, with a thick off-white head. Aromas are of nuts, brown sugar and yeast. Has raisin, yeast and brown sugar in the taste. Gregis (1132), Shawnee, Kansas, USA Mar 13, 2008 Pours a root beer brown with a sizable, fluffy, beige head that laces nicely. On the nose are raisins, light brown sugar, spicy yeast and candy sugar. The palate is medium-bodied with soft carbonation ending quite dryly. Mildly spicy Belgian yeast, raisins and a touch of brown sugar, finishing dry and fairly quickly. This one is very well constructed and tasty, but there’s something missing that keeps it from being a "Wow!" beer. blueye80 (1), USA does not count Mar 12, 2008 The smell did not really reflect the taste. It was more bitter that it smelled. Still a really good brew. FleeVT (40), Boca Raton, Florida, USA Mar 12, 2008 11.2 Fl.Oz. bottle, Best Before 04/23/2010.
Slightly cloudy nutty brown color with a creamy white head. Light on the nose with a floral sweetness and maybe just a hint of malt. Extremely carbonated in the mouth. Nothing overpowering in this beer, it has a medium body. Not too flavorful, subtle hints of caramel with bitterness. Finishes clean. bma4573 (136), Mechanicsville, Maryland, USA Mar 8, 2008 Poured on tap at Max’s Belgian Fest 08, poured a dark but slightly transparent brown, with sweet aroma. A sweet carmely flavor but not overpowering. This is easily the best Belgian ale I’ve sampled. screwball (796), Motala, Sweden Mar 6, 2008 Bottle from Bishopas Arms in Linkoping. Body is dark brown-red. Begie head. Aroma is complex... Plums, malty, nuts, red berrys. Flavor is malty and milky. Vinous but not sour. Has a big mouthfeel. Bubbly.
