The nose was filled with dark caramel, dates, raisen, cherry and a mineral edge. In the mouth it was lighter than it looked with an elegance to it. The midpalate was soft and well-balanced but lacked punch. When drank the bubbles attack the tounge which keeps this light and elegant. gmonroe10 (172), Netherlands
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Jan 15, 2008 A dark brown pour with hints of red. The head was certainly brown tint. Sweet but carbonation tastes forced, and body looks weak. Taste as well feels watered down. Not as bad as i wrote it out be, but better belgians out there. Lots of yeast and raisin, very vinous smell. Slightly candy sugar sweet but very malty and rich with a somewhat creamy comfortable mounthfeel. Finshes with a nice bittering effect that begs me back for more. tympanic (50), Alabama, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 9, 2008 Pours a dark caramel amber with a medium, yet well retained light frothy brown head. Smells of big Belgian yeast, candy sugar, sweet dark fruits including plums and figs. Very Belgian smelling, quite standard. The flavor is much the same, good amount of sweet fruits to it, in fact that was mostly what I got. Decent amount of Belgian candy sugar and yeast. Very standard Belgian ale, but good flavor, nice palate, solid. Maria (6167), Thisted, Denmark
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Jan 6, 2008 Red/brown with a nice, creamy head that leaves a nice lace. The aroma has notes of yeast, caramel and hops. The mouthfeel is thin and the carbonation is high. The initial flavours are roasted malt, plum, caramel, citrus and bitterness. The two latter lasts during the long finish, where I also find a brief notes of caramel. Sparky27 (1583), Phoenix, Arizona, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 3, 2008 Bottle from a St. Bernardus variety pack. A dark reddish brown color with tan head. Nice lacing on the glass. Caramel and sugary tastes dominate with an alcohol aftertaste. Definitely the lesser, slightly water-downed version of the St Bernardus belgians, but it was decent overall. andyhite (290), Murfreesboro, Tennessee, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 2, 2008 330ml pours slightly hazy, yet clean ruby-mohogany. fluffy adequate bubbly head. floral aroma followed by raw dough. however, as it warms, the aromas are less muted, and the complexity reveals itself. taste? vanilla, cream, garden-like flowers, intense fruit, though unsweet. slight white raisin taste, good overall. smooth on the palate.
