0.33l, bb 23 04 10. Slightly cloudy, dark copper-brown with a huge head that lasts forever. Aroma is spicy toffee with dates. Flavors of rum and raisins, earthy root-spiced caramel, dried wood, and some slight pepper-spiced hops. Sorta smooth, light-medium body is dry and tingly on the finish.

Bottle 33 cl. Pours a brown amber with a big but fading tan head and malt and caramel in the nose. taste is both malty and a bit hoppy like a pilsener and sweet (ripe fruits, caramel and brown sugar) with a hint of roasted malts like a belgian strong ale. A nice finish that has caramel and brown sugar at first and than a long taste of hops. A good beer, simple as that!

Color is a deep honey brown, translucent and attractive. Aroma is strongly malty with a hint of banana. Malt dominates the flavor, which has a ribbon of hop bitterness and undertones of banana and cinnamon. Texture is fairly smooth with a good bit of tingle. Finish is pleasant; malty aftertaste has a decidedly fruity tone.

Poured from the 11.2 oz bottle to a dark reddish brown with a medium off-white head that lingered for the entire drink (which I enjoyed for well over 45 minutes.) Aroma was a nice strong blend of malty dark fruits....mostly dates, raisins, grapes and black cherry. Mouthfeel was full and slightly tingly, and the flavor was a perfect continuation of the nose. This beer was tasty at the outset, and like many Belgian Ales, became better as it sat and warmed. A most enjoyable beer.

11.2 oz bottle. Creamy lingering head sitting atop muddy brown ale. Faint aroma, much less than I would have expected. Sweet with some raisin. Even after leaving the beer mellow for 10 minutes, the carbonation was surprisingly overbearing. Some raisin and licorice flavors, but admittedly just too much carbonation in here to get all the other nuances of flavor. Still a good beer, but nothing exceptional (unlike the 12).

Bottled at the Rover, Göteborg, Sweden. Deep reddish brown with a smooth vreamy off-white head. Fruity and yeasty aroma with plums and dark berries. Medium bodied and smooth. Good balance with a dry finish.

Bottle. Nice head with good duration. Color is hazy dark amber. Aroma and taste are yeast and fruits. Taste is sweet with fruit and malt.

33cl bottle - pours dark hazy brown with an creamy, rocky head. Aroma of yeast, malts, dark fruit, citrus...flavour is quite similar with a nice and thick mouthfeel. Quite sweet and fruity with a big body on it. Cherries and apples show up in the middle of the swallow. Complex and drinkable. I love the St. Bernardus beers.
