Yeast and heavy caramel. Very nice. And thick aroma. Slight hint of hop to offset sweetness of smell.
Aroma does not translate as well in into flavor. Very neutral.
Watery feel, some fizz though not much, but light-medium body.
High scores for the aroma. And for being somewhat complex.
BJCP characterises as a Dubbel.

Are their nostrils the radius of a pin head? The aroma on this is in your face- brown sugar, fruity ale esters, candy, and yeast. Medium bodied with that typical Trappiste earthy mouthfeel. The beer is a nice blend of cheryy, caramel, dark fruits, yeast, and spice. Complex without being extreme. Felsenbrau (19), Middletown, Ohio, USA

Pours dark amber brown with 1/2" enduring headand excellent lacing. Aroma of alcohol and sugar, with some fruit. Flavor starts sweet with apricot, walnut(?), and some brown sugar and spices. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jul 17, 2009 This Beligan ale continues the prior success and enjoyment of St. Bernard brewed beers. Very enjoyable for the style. Pours out a dark amber brown, cloudy with a solid 2" thick off-white head. Drippy lacing left behind was very nice to watch, like lattice work on a wedding cake. Aroma is solidy built around candi sugar, brassy malts, brown sugar, yeast and a bit of dried fruits. Flavor starts out with a punch of sweet candi sugar, caramel, dried apricots, spices and a bit of yeast. Very enjoyable. floydian1 (272), FNQ, Australia
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 30, 2009 330ml bottle into chalice glass. A dark brown hazy beer with a medium off white head. Nose is fruity sweet nutty malts and light hops. The taste is similar with a caramel malty presence and a nice dry spicy hop finish. Thickish body for the ABV. Not bad at all. porterhouse (1152), Alna, Maine, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jun 28, 2009 (330 ml bottle (best before 4/16/10) from McKean and Charles) Pours cloudy brownish amber with a finger and a half of off-white head. Aroma of spice (cinnamon?), light candy-malt, brown sugar, fruit and some yeast. Mouthfeel soft, fairly smooth but a but fizzy. Lightly sticky on back end. Big, weepy rings of lacing that are well-retained. Flavor of light spice, cinnamon-like over light sweet candy-malt and fruit. The fruitiness is almost cherry-like. Hints of brown sugar and smoke. Very nice and refined although aroma and flavor could be a bit beefier. glennmastrange (836), hobe sound, Florida, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 24, 2009 Bottle. Moderate malt notes of cereal, cookie and nutty, light herbs and dough for the hops and yeast, with hints of cherry, red wine and brown sugar. Head is average size to start, fizzy, off-white, with good lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is red/brown, murky, then clears up to show some tiny particles. Flavor starts lighty sweet and moderately acidic, then finishes lightly sweet and acidic. Palate is medium, oily, with a carbonation that’s lively bordering on fizzy. A well rounded Belgian Ale that could easily be drunk a few at a time.
