Some dark fruit, brown sugar sweetness. Will be worth trying again after being cooled by some high-tech refrigeration. HDane (81), Chesapeake, Virginia, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 13, 2006 For some reason, I haven’t been able to find this on the east coast. I finally found it at Bottleworks in Seattle. Aroma is very herbal with some spiciness. I get some mints in the nose along with a bit of bubblegum aroma as well. There is also some doughy dustiness with some nuttiness as well, but unfortunately, the weird bubblegum and mint aromas keep overpowering everything else. Moderately hazy mahogany color with a beautiful, frothy off-yellowish head and impressive lacing. Spicy, modestly tart beginning, which turns more roasty in the middle. I detect a fair share of woodsiness, nuttiness, and raisins. I also get a little of that bubblegum I was talking about earlier. Finishes, roasty and smooth. This beer is a bit of a setback from the other masterpieces they have brewed. rayg1 (437), Ft. Mill, South Carolina, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | Jul 12, 2006 Aroma is fruit spice and YEAST, man I don’t think I’ve ever smelled the yeast quite like this before. Taste was a spicy fruityness, like citrus but sweeter no bitterness to finish with and I have to say I’m kinda dissapointed by that. Decent mouthfeel and a small but lasting tan head. Still a good beer that I would buy again. EithCubes (2146), Indiana, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 23, 2006 Bottle. Murky brown pour with a fantastic, fluffy and lacing stable tan head. Smells sweet, spicy, yeasty, and fruity, a little orange peel with the malt. Rich, sweet and very spicy flavor, malty and only a tad warming. Also a tad too thin. A touch of wood with that delicious spiciness. Medium-dry. Very pleasant and extremely easy to drink, but needs more concentration and flavor.
