Boutip (2333), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada Dec 2, 2005 Bottle: Poured a dark brown color ale with a huge off-white foamy head. Aroma of sweet raisins with the distinctive Belgian yeast. Taste can also be distinguished by the sweet malt and raisins with a candy like sweetness also present. Body is a bit too thin but carbonation is quite good. It was a glorious day. The sky wasblue the air was crisp. The ocean was very clear but a bit cold. We decided against the turkey leftovers and ate Pad Thai off my foot insead. Pleasant fruity aroma - grapes, apples, pleasantly sweet aroma. Taste is fairly sweet caramel, some dark fruits, with barely a touch of bitterness. Palate is fairly light. Not detecting any alcohol in the palate, but a very slight warmth in the belly. Fairly sweet at the beginning, with toffee, caramel, and raisins. With some spicy notes, brown sugar, caramelized malt, fruity of figs, raisins, hint of chocolate, with a sweet malt aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a fruitiness note of figs, raisins, dates, a chocolatey accent, brown sugar, molasses, caramelized malt leading towards a sweet malty finish.
