3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: JAN 12, 2013 Another brew from the always excellent St. Bernardus brewy. Pours somewhat brown but not dark brown with a nice and soft off-white head. Aroma is really subtle with a little nuts (WTF?) and bready notes. First sip is ridden with a not so pleasant metallic aftertaste. Blech. Once you overcome that and continue to drink on it is a pretty light brew that is nice to drink but not complex. Mouthfeel is really nice tho, fluffy and light. It is nice and malty with not much hops to speak of. Overall I’d say that this is the one I enjoyed the least from their range but it is still quite good for what it is!

Molt bona cervesa del estil Abbey Ale, tot i que, no arriba a ser com una bona quàdruple. És molt recomanable.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
A dark amber/brown beer, slightly cloudy and well carbonated.
It has a thin foamy head, a good swirl will produce an abundance of surface foam that’s pleasing to look at.
A smell a complex malt bill that is sweet with candied sugar.
Drinks with warming alcohol sweet malts and candied plums.
A thin light mouthfeel.
A good beer with lower more acceptable abv’s meaning that I can drink a few, no problem.

Bottle at Tokishirasu, Kyoto. Dark muddy amber, fine thin head. Aroma of sticky malt, cola lozenge. Fine mouthfeel. Flavoursome, but not overly sticky. Light date, molasses, and fruity candy. Pretty good.

Pours a clouded amber with frothy lacing tan head. Notes of honey, a bit of stonefruit, yeast and hints of banana. Taste is moderately sweet with a bit of wood and a dry full finish.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle at home. This struck me as a typical Belgian brew. Persistent head, bubbly carbonation, malty nose, slightly sweet and bitter taste. Fairly strong in alcohol compared with the other elements.
