Sweet, malty and somewhat fruity aroma with a hint of chocolate. Great sweet caramel malt flavor with fruit and some chocolate. Semi-bitter aftertaste. Not quite on par with their Abt 12, but a very good beer nontheless.

St. Bernardus brews always have that high carbonation that makes for a sexy mouthfeel. Lots of sweetness and awesomeness in this brew. Damico (201), Norristown, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 31, 2009 There is not much depth to this beer. It is pleasant in a subtle way, almost the flavor of a brown ale when moving through the mouth. There is not much carbonation to overpower the flavor either. twitcher (293), framingham, Massachusetts, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 20, 2008 bottle. Pours a dark, opaque brown, big chunky off white head that sticks around throughout. Aromas of raisins, black currants, and a cloyingly sweet maltiness. Flavors blend very well... starts with a light touch of floral bitterness, heavy raisin and fig flavors, and some yeast notes. Very even on the palate, a decent amount of active carbonation, and a nice, smooth clean finish. Very good brew. DrDavid (957), Johnson, Vermont, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 8, 2008 (Bottle). Aroma is sweet plum. Pours hazy reddish brown with a large head. High carbonation, flavor is pleasingly sweet, not overpowering. Overall, a light feel, and a very pleasant experience. NomDeBeer (402), Maryland, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 24, 2009 Pours a murky brown color with a large creamy head. Nice lacing too. Aroma is nice - crisp and spicy with bread, yeast, and sugar. Taste is the same with a dull earthy finish. I’m generally not a fan of Belgian ales like this, but this one is quite good. Drinkable and enjoyable.
