StompBrockmore (300), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Nov 21, 2007 33cl bottle - pours dark hazy brown with an creamy, rocky head. Aroma of yeast, malts, dark fruit, citrus...flavour is quite similar with a nice and thick mouthfeel. Quite sweet and fruity with a big body on it. Cherries and apples show up in the middle of the swallow. Complex and drinkable. I love the St. Bernardus beers.
ubamartian (148), Watertown, Wisconsin, USA Jul 16, 2008 Bottle. Pours a dark brown. light two finger tight foamy head. Aroma is of pizza dough with a bit of earthy dark fruits. The flavor is even better, dark fruits, spices, a bit of a bread flavor, caramel, and malt. Medium body, has a good smooth feel. Overall this is a very good beer. Not as heavy as many, and more balanced flavor. Suttree (2265), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Jul 14, 2008 Muddy brown, thin beige head. aroma of red aples and molasses, mixed with a bit of rum. Flavor is molasses and fruit, like maybe figs or prunes. Surprisng amount of alcohol heat for 6.7% beer. Nice earthy, rough finish. MrBunn (795), Western, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 12, 2008 Bottle. Pours a deep brown with some light pouring through and a two finger or so head that is fairly dense. Has aromas that are woody and nutty with a bit of bread dough, yeast and spice. Flavor is a little different, however, as it mixes dark fruit, sawdust, allspice and rye bread. Thought this would be much different, although this is pretty darn acceptable. ILoveNewBeer (76), Iowa City, Iowa, USA Jul 10, 2008 I would expect nothing less from St Bernardus. Taste of sweet fruit, caramel, malt. Mid to full bodied and yet easily drinkable. ogreface (143), Budapest, Hungary Jul 10, 2008 A "gyenge" Pater csak az alkohol fokában az.Mármint a többihez képest.Sötét színű,sűrű,édeskés,gyümölcsös,karamellás ízű főzet.
