4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
This Abbey Ale proves why Abbey’s are renowned for top quality. On the poor you get a nice seasoned and nutty aroma with a chestnut color. The taste of this fine Ale supersedes the aroma (which is already amazing)! It has a full body with a flavor of roasted nuts and a lingering palate that drives you to sip after sip! Perfect for a nice cold winter day!

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a murky chestnut brown with fluffy off-white head that reduces quickly to a thin skim.
Nose is sweet malt with prominent cola note combined with fruitiness, not so much a cherry coke as a raisin coke. That follows on the palate, along with nut and honey flavors.
There’s a pronounced spritz and a full, somewhat slick mouthfeel, with slight bitterness on the finish.
Not as complex as some of its siblings, but a fine drink.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a nice dark brown color with a few floaties in it with a good head. Aroma is malty, nutty, toffee, figs, vinous cherry, almonds, toasty. Taste is aggressive malt, nuts, and figs with a background of toffee and toasted almonds. Very good dubbel, very carbonated on the mouthfeel as well for a 6.7% beer, definitely a solid example of the style.
