| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 22, 2009 Bottle, 33 cl. Dark beer with a beige medium head, creamy, light unstable (becoming little lasting head). Aroma of malt and light caramel, not very strong smell however. Malty taste with a light hop bitter finish. Another good one in the serie of St Bernardus, although certaintly not the best. Fevernova (44), Ohio, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 19, 2009 33cL Bottle -- Pour chocolate brown with an off-white head. Roasted malts, milk chocolate like a tootsie roll, and caramel are the first flavors to hit the palate. Some roasted coffee bean and cherry on the finish. Carbonation is a little much for me on a beer like this. Full and almost creamy upfront with the darker flavors lasting for a good while. keidjxz (55), Irvine, California, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 19, 2009 Pours dark hazy brown with a little red and gold coloring in it. Nice lacing and a long lasting head are accompanied by a faint sweet aroma of dark candied fruits. Matching sweet flavor is paired with a little sourness and has a slightly astringent finish. bluebetty (106), Australia
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 16, 2009 Bottle. Pours a cloudy chocolate brown. Cramy off white head h fades slowly leaving plenty of lacing. Aromas of stone fruit, toffee and plenty of yeast.and a little yeast. Amazing. Flavours once again show the stone friut, some malt sweetness and some caramel. Carbonation is perhaps a little too high especially at the end. Very dry on the finish with some alcohol. A really nice beer. proesti (53), Lille Nord, France
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 15, 2009 Brown beer with light beige mousse. Aroma is malty, bready and has hint of caramel and hop. Taste is less intens than the SB 12 but it is in the same style. Taste is smooth caramel, malts, bread and some hiop. thirdeye11 (501), Texas, USA

Good lacing too. Nose of yeast, corn, dark fruits, and plastic. Taste is dark fruits, spices, creamy chocolate. Finishes very smooth. Berley31 (185), New Brunswick, Canada
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 13, 2009 A: Poured this beer directly after finishing the Pater 6, and it looked virtually identical, with a large, off-white head that slowly diminished to 1/2-finger size, and a dark brown, cloudy body. Some light lacing.
S: Smells very similar to the 6, but for some reason it actually seemed a bit milder to me... the breadiness is there, but this time I can detect a slight alcohol scent.
T: Very nice flavor, with a bit of buttery diacetyl coming through, as well as the alcohol warmth at the back of the throat. Not quite as sweet as the 6.
M: Medium-bodied and creamy texture, with very lively carbonation.
D: Very drinkable, especially for its alcohol content at 8%, but I think in the end I actually have to give the edge to the St. Bernardus 6. Rune (2787), Tromsų, Norway
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Nov 13, 2009 330ml bottle picked up at Utobeer in London last August. Huge, beige, head fading slowly over a cloudy, ruby-orange body. Dry, tart fruits to the nose with hints of yeast. Dry fruity taste with subdued candy sweetness. Notes of yeast and bitter spices to the finish. I got an impression of old books while drinking this one. Far from great, but has got its moments of joyful drinking. (Tromsų, 07.11.2009).
