darkseduction (198), Zweibrücken, Germany Dec 6, 2008 Bottle 33cl. A ruby-brown coloured brew with a firm dense head. Wonderful fruity nose, slight toffee impressions. An exellent complex brew with a long satisfying aftertaste. Great! Benjiehorn (15), Chicago, Illinois, USA Nov 30, 2008 The Prior 8 pours a very dark brown, with a tan head that lasted just a bit for me. The first thing that hit me in the aroma and the mouthfeel was the raisin dominance. Very good. A lot of carbonation procedes with a good amount of dark maltiness, and a nice touch of alcohol on the finish. tarheels86 (705), Washington DC, USA Nov 30, 2008 Gusher--- bad sign. Pours a clear brown with a nice tan head that disappears quickly to almost nothing. Aromas of black cherries, brown sugar, alcohol, yeast, rum raisins, and caramel malt. Higher than average carbonation. Taste is quite a wonderful experience. Begins with lots of bubbles and then steps aside for the caramel malt, brown sugar, and rum raisins. Slight warming alcohol in the end with a pleasantly sweet aftertaste. Slightly creamy on the palate. Excellent but not very exciting. Much more flavor and character than the Pater 6 though. EricE (446), Fairfax, Virginia, USA Nov 29, 2008 Slight hazy brown pour with a red tint. Very thick fluffy light tan head. Fruity apple and cherry aroma with tons of roasted malt. Fruity flavor - tree fruits apple, etc, as well as cherry. Strong roast bitter malt backbone. Slightly sweet and sour at the same time. Bitter hops and alcohol finish. amishcaravan (237), Winona, Minnesota, USA Nov 29, 2008 tastes like raisens and fermented fruit. very nice beer. I would purchase again. IlanMan (816), Appleton, Wisconsin, USA Nov 29, 2008 Bottle: Pour was dark golden/brown with a foamy light tan head. Aroma is yeasty with light fruit, and a lot of malt. Flavor is very malty with caramel charcters, and light fruity notes. Yeast is also dominant in the flavo. Light roasted characters as well as hints of alcohol are also prevalent. Good brew. Pretty well blended but not extremely smooth on the palate. Good but not amazing. Travlr (700), Washington, Washington DC, USA Nov 28, 2008 My favorite of the line - a big beer, with a complex mix of fruits - raisins and pears. Best candidate for storing for a few years. JonnyDr (132), , South Yorkshire, England Nov 27, 2008 Pours brown with tan head. Spice, malt and caramel. Fairly good but pales in comparison to Rochefort 8.
