Bottle. Pours dark brown with off-white lacing. Aroma is dark fruit. Flavor is great, dark fruit again.

Pours dark brown with a medium white head. Nose is some dark fruit, light caramel and mustiness. Taste is much the same, with a good beginning flavor that is round and complex, raisin and candied sugar, finishes nice, not too sweet. Very drinkable and solid all around. Just overshadowed by the 12.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy dark brown with floaters and a one finger light tan head. Nose is a sour wine-like aroma upfront with a yeasty sugary background. Palate is dark fruits, brown sugar, a berry-like sour flavor and yeast. Interesting stuff. Medium mouth feel with nice lacing.

Pours dark brown with a medium tan head. Aroma of wine, raisins, plums, and caramels. taste comes through wioth candied sugar, dark fruitts, and wine. This has a lot of taste for 8%. Very drinkable with nice complexity. Finish is very smooth. This is an excellent Belgian Strong. Not quite the 12, not not too far off either.

11.2 oz bottle from Total Wine. It pours a deep reddish-brown color with an aroma of bourbon, dark fruit, and hints of caramel. Slightly fizzy on the mouthfeel which seems to add raisiny notes. Pretty good.

A good beer that is obviously related to the 12. The flavors are quite similar sweet dark fruits. The flavors seem to fight each other a bit more in this version of the beer and the mouthfeel is not as rich. Good but i can’t see buying it again when the 12 sits right next to it in the store

Initial sense is a wonderfully spicy aroma. Lacey thin head that casually lies on top. Orange, caramel and rasin, with a finish thats got a tinge of sour thats not overpowering and just in balance with the residual sweetness mixed with orange remaining.
