Really enjoyed this brew. Pours a nice amber-brown color with foamy off-white head. Aroma is of dark fruit, bread and candied yeast. Goes down very smooth with a slight acidic fruit finish. Would drink again.

Bottle. Another wonderful Belgian brew from St. Bernardus. The aroma is sweet with some yeast. It pours dark caramel brown caramel color with a thick foamy off white head. The alcohol is well hidden and the taste contains dark fruits and slight yeast.

Single bottle enjoyed in a medium sized snifter. Slow pour producing a cloudy, mahogany colored body with a billowing khaki head. I was able to pour the rest of the bottle into the glass after a considerable wait. The rocky head sticks around providing a bunch of stringy/streaky lacing. I swirled gently to help release the aroma, and what a lovely aroma it is. A rich fruitiness filled the air, very strong and welcoming. Vinous with a light red wine quality accompanied by scents of plums and licorice. Medium bodied on the palate and velvety smooth. The alcohol is barely noticed and there is a succinct fruity aftertaste. Flavor resembles the aroma, but has a little different complexity to it. Sweet doughy malts similar to fresh baked goods. Raisins, figs, and plums with a small nuance of orange zest. A friendly port wine quality similar with other well crafted Belgians. A hint of spices similar to clove, ginger, and coriander. Fruity and overall a great beer.

Dark amber pour with a generous head. Aroma is strong of sweet dark fruit a little yeast and a little alcohol. A balanced bitter sweet flavor. Nice.

33cl bottle from Total Wine Tampa. Appears dark brown with a frothy white head. Head retention is not good, but enough remains to lace the glass. Aroma is of bread, sweet malt, touch of honey, and candy sugar. Flavor is much of the same with a slight bitterness in the middle of the swallow that gives way to a chocolatey, coffee-like finish.

(BELGIUM) Pours a very dark brown color with a nice med-foamy tan head. The aroma is of molasses, dark fruit, and a hint of bourbon !! Flavor is smooth and creamy with dark fruit, and brown sugar taste. The 8% is well hidden, Another delicious brew from St.Bernardus....... :)

St Bernardus...another great beer. Nice brown puor with a tan haed. Aroma is dried fruit, malt and syrup. Flavor is smooth and rich and just plain delicious.
